Frequently Asked Questions What Types of Companies Are on the "Don't Test" List? This list includes companies that make cosmetics, personal-care products, household-cleaning products, and other common household products. All companies that are included on PETA's "don't test" list have signed our statement of assurance verifying that they and their ingredient suppliers don't conduct, commission, pay for, or allow any tests on animals for ingredients, formulations, or finished products anywhere in the world and will not do so in the future. We encourage consumers to support the companies on this list, since we know that they're committed to making products without harming animals. Companies on the "Do Test" list should be shunned until they implement a policy that prohibits animal testing. The "do test" list doesn't include companies that manufacture only products that are required by law to be tested on animals (e.g., pharmaceuticals and garden chemicals). Although PETA is opposed to all animal testing, our focus in those instances is less on the individual companies and more on the regulatory agencies that require animal testing. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Legend V - The company makes or sells strictly vegan products. Abstract Goal: To assess infection rate in a population of children who underwent cranial neurosurgery without hair removal. Methods: Retrospective analysis of clinical records of children undergoing cranial neurosurgery with “shampoo care” during one year. Results: 450 children were included. 5.55% of them had a wound complication, with only two cases of infection (0.4%). Available literature was revised to assess the effectiveness of our protocol. • What You Can Do to Reduce Your Exposure to Chemicals
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO REDUCE YOUR EXPOSURE TO CHEMICALS Eat organically grown food whenever possible. Many pesticides and herbicides are carcinogenic, and many have a chemical structure that is very similar to estrogens. These can stimulate the growth of breast tumors. Organic food is grown without chemicals or hormones and has been found to be much higher in nutrients than foods grown in commercially fertilized, nutrient-depleted soil. Especially, avoid non-organic eggs, dairy products and meats, as hormones and antibiotics are fed to the animals. The following fruits and vegetables have been found to have the highest levels of pesticides (when grown non-organically.) Avoid them unless they are organic: strawberries, bell peppers, spinach, cherries, peaches, cantaloupe, celery, apples, apricots, green beans, Chilean grapes, cucumbers. Foods that tend to be low in pesticides EWG analysis of the latest government test results shows that the following fruits and vegetables have the least pesticide contamination among conventionally-grown foods. Fruits Vegetables 1) Pineapples 1) Avocado 2) Plantains 2) Cauliflower 3) Mangoes 3) Brussels Sprouts 4) Bananas 4) Asparagus 5) Watermelon 5) Radishes 6) Plums 6) Broccoli 7) Kiwi Fruit 7) Onions 8) Blueberries 8) Okra 9) Papaya 9) Cabbage 10) Grapefruit 10) Eggplant Do not use pesticides or herbicides in your home or on your lawn or garden. Lawn and garden chemicals have been found to increase cancer rates in pets and people. Avoid Plastics if possible: Their production releases chlorinated toxins into the environment. Reduce or eliminate the use of plastic containers for food storage. Certain plasticizers, which add flexibility to plastic food wraps, are suspected endocrine disrupters.

  • Bloomsburg Investment Group
Bloomsburg Investment Group Equity Analysis The Procter & Gamble Company (PG) Analyst: Gerrick Hardy, Class of 2021 Trevor Luzi, Mackenzie Gross, Class of 2022 Bloomsburg Investment Group Opinion: After our group's thorough analysis, we believe it is in the best interest of the group if our holding in Procter & Gamble (PG) is partially liquidated. Although our group remains bullish about the company, we think taking some profits from PG's recent run-up and allocating funds elsewhere in the sector would be most beneficial. While the company has provided strong organic growth in each of the two previous quarters, a number of headwinds remain in the way which will likely restrict future growth. A stronger U.S. Dollar has essentially offset the organic revenue growth, and the rise in transportation costs and commodity prices has and will likely continue to squeeze the margins of PG. With consumer tastes trending towards less expensive generic brands, customers may not respond favorably to recent price increases of some of Procter & Gamble’s largest brands. Our sector believes PG is currently trading at a premium that will not be satisfied with future growth. Despite all of this, we are still bullish because of the high dividend yield that the company has increased for 62 consecutive years, wide array of brand offerings, and brand loyalty and recognition, among other factors. Considering cross-current risks that exist in the macroeconomic environment and the potential of an upcoming recession or economic downturn, Procter & Gamble will continue to provide stable growth and hedge our portfolio. Corporate Summary: Corporate Details: Name Procter & Gamble Co The Procter & Gamble Company, founded in 1837, is Ticker PG a global manufacturer and distributor of household Domicile United States goods.

BODY The 13 Best Body Lotions of All Time, According to Doctors We tapped the pros to get their expert picks. By Olivia Wohlner, Editorial Assistant · Mar 9, 2021 t’s pretty easy to remember to apply your daily facial moisturizer each morning, especially if it’s got built-in block that will help shield your skin from harmful UV rays. However, it’s defi- nitely safe to say that we often forget to give the skin on our body the same attention and Icare as our face. While that deeply moisturizing body wash can definitely keep your skin feeling smooth with each wash, it may not be enough to stand tall against those rough spots and dry patches. With that in mind, we tapped the skin-care pros to break down the eight best body lotions of all time. 1/12 AFA Advanced Body Lotion ($88) “This body lotion is specifically designed for areas of the body with visible sun damage, and it improves moisture retention, elasticity and skin texture,” says Omaha, NE dermatologist Joel Schlessinger, MD. “Formulated with afaLUXE technology, L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and Dead Sea minerals, this body lotion offers an effective treatment for minimizing hyperpigmentation and sun damage on areas such as the hands, arms, back and chest.” 2/12 Avène XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cream ($34) While describing the benefits of this skin-silkening cream, Miami dermatologist Dr. Deborah Longwill pins this product as her “all-time favorite.” “The Lipid-Replenishing Cream helps moisturize and soothe the skin while strengthening the skin’s barrier over time.

  • Companies That Do Test on Animals
COMPANIES THAT DO TEST ON ANIMALS Frequently Asked Questions Why are these companies included on the 'Do Test' list? The following companies manufacture products that ARE tested on animals. Those marked with a are currently observing a moratorium (i.e., current suspension of) on animal testing. Please encourage them to announce a permanent ban. Listed in parentheses are examples of products manufactured by either the company listed or, if applicable, its parent company. For a complete listing of products manufactured by a company on this list, please visit the company's Web site or contact the company directly for more information. Companies on this list may manufacture individual lines of products without animal testing (e.g., Clairol claims that its Herbal Essences line is not animal-tested). They have not, however, eliminated animal testing from their entire line of cosmetics and household products. Similarly, companies on this list may make some products, such as pharmaceuticals, that are required by law to be tested on animals. However, the reason for these companies' inclusion on the list is not the animal testing that they conduct that is required by law, but rather the animal testing (of personal-care and household products) that is not required by law. What can be done about animal tests required by law? Although animal testing of pharmaceuticals and certain chemicals is still mandated by law, the arguments against using animals in cosmetics testing are still valid when applied to the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. These industries are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency, respectively, and it is the responsibility of the companies that kill animals in order to bring their products to market to convince the regulatory agencies that there is a better way to determine product safety.
