  • ING Credit Update 4Q2020
ING Credit Update 4Q2020 ING Investor Relations 12 February 2021 Key points . 2020 was a year marked by the Covid-19 pandemic and the unprecedented challenges it presented to our customers, employees and society. We continue to take actions to provide support and with vaccination programmes being rolled out globally, we look forward to return to more normal circumstances in the near future . We continue our efforts to build a sustainable company, also reflected in our strong ESG profile . The current environment underscores the strength of our digital business model. We continued to grow primary customers, as they choose us as their go-to bank, while mobile interactions further increased . Pre-provision result was resilient, though the impact from Covid-19 is visible, most notably on lending and savings. After years of growth, 2020 net core lending was down by €2.5 bln, while net deposit inflow was high at €41.4 bln . Fee growth was good, as our actions on investment products and daily banking more than compensated for the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on fees for payments and lending . 2020 risk costs were €2.7 bln with ~30% in Stage 1 and 2, mainly due to Covid-19, reflecting IFRS 9 related provisions and management overlays. For 2021 we expect to move close to our through-the–cycle average of ~25 bps . The Stage 3 ratio remained low at 1.7% and we are confident on the quality of our loan book, supported by a proven risk management framework with a strong track record, also compared to peers .

  • New Payments Platform Roadmap 2019
New Payments Platform Roadmap 2019 Enhancing the platform’s capabilities 28 October 2019 NPP AUSTRALIA LIMITED ABN: 68 601 428 737 © 2019 NPP Australia Limited. Third party material reproduced with permission. Page 2 Introduction The New Payments Platform (NPP) is designed to support a 24/7 modern, digital economy. It provides a fast, flexible and data-rich payments system that enables Australian consumers, businesses and government agencies to make real-time data rich payments between accounts at participating Australian financial institutions. In contrast to payments between bank accounts using the Direct Entry system (which are settled in batches, several times during the day or the next business day), payments made by the NPP move value in real-time between bank accounts, are available 24/7/365 and can carry more data. Operating as utility payments infrastructure, the NPP was commissioned and funded by NPP Australia Limited’s (NPPA) founding shareholders1 for and on behalf of the Australian payments industry. NPPA is a public company established to oversee the development and operation of the NPP. The NPP brings enormous potential for future payments innovation through its speed, data capability, open-access design and unique layered architecture. The platform can support multiple products and services as well as enable digital processes, which can deliver back-office efficiencies and cost savings to Australian businesses and government agencies. The NPP has extensive capabilities, in particular: NPPA is committed to ongoing investment to extend and enhance the capability of the platform to meet the needs of participating financial institutions, payment providers and users of the wider payments ecosystem.

ING Credit Update 1Q2021 ING Investor Relations 6 May 2021 Key points ▪ We continue to provide support to customers, employees and society in coping with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. With vaccination programmes progressing globally, we look forward to return to more normal circumstances in the near future ▪ At the same time, we continue our efforts to build a future proof company for the long term, which is reflected in our focus on continued digitalisation and ESG ▪ Our geographical and product diversification enables us to have stability in income and allows us to capture areas of growth as economies recover. Combined with the ongoing optimisation of our business, we are well positioned to return to an ROE in line with our 10-12% ambition ▪ Pre-provision result was resilient, supported by the inclusion of the TLTRO III benefit in NII, continued strong fee growth and cost control, despite margin pressure on customer deposits ▪ After a net decrease in 2020, net core lending grew by €17.8 bln, mainly reflecting TLTRO III eligible lending, while net deposit inflow continued to be high at €8.1 bln ▪ Fee growth was strong, as higher fees on investment products and daily banking packages more than compensated for the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on fees related to payments and lending ▪ Risk costs were €223 mln. The Stage 3 ratio declined to 1.6% and we are confident about the quality of our loan book ▪ 1Q2021 CET1 ratio was stable at 15.5%, with 50% of 1Q2021 resilient net profit reserved outside of CET1 capital for distribution
