Our patron HH Sayyid Tarik Bin Shabib Al-Said • Director, Renaissance Services SAOG, Sultanate of Oman His Highness has interests in various fields including agriculture, education, training, oil & petrochemicals and media services. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors of Renaissance Services SAOG, the Chairman of the National Hospitality Institute of the Sultanate of Oman, the Editor in Chief of the company’s business magazine, The Oman Economic Review and the Patron of Oman’s 1st Environmental NGO “the Environment Society of Oman”. HH Sayyid Tarik Bin Shabib Al Said studied at Eton College and is a graduate of Pembroke College, Oxford University.

Conference chairmen Dr. Mohammed Al Barwani • Founder, Owner & Chairman, MB Group, Sultanate of Oman Dr. Mohammed Al Barwani is founder and Chairman of MB Holding and has investments in various companies with interest in oil & gas, , , financial services, and real estate. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from Miami University, USA and was awarded Master’s Degree and Ph.D in Petroleum Engineering from Herriot-Watt University, UK. He is current on the board of Al Madina Financial & Investment Services SAOC , Oman Air, Nautilus Minerals (Toronto Stock Exchange), and UCL Resources (Australian Stock Exchange). He is also the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland to the Sultanate of Oman and has received various awards for achievement in business and public life. Peter Leach • Founder & Chairman, Peter Leach & Partners, UK Peter has over 30 years of experience as a business advisor, teacher and facilitator working with family business owners internationally. He is author of a number of books on Family Businesses, some of which have been published in several languages. He is also frequently quoted in the UK national and international press and lectures at business schools and universities all over the world. Peter holds the post of Adjunct Professor in Family Business at Imperial College London. He is also Chairman of the Advisory Board of the UK Institute for Family Business, and is a Fellow of the Family Firm Institute of the USA, the international body for family business advisers. Peter received many awards e.g. Family Business Advisor of the Year 2013/2014 at the STEP Private Client Awards. profile of conference speakers: Turki Abdulrahman Al Rajhi • Partner, Al Rajhi Holdings, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mr. Al Rajhi is a 3rd Generation Family Member. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the following groups: Abdulrahman Saleh Al Rajhi and Holding Company, Procare and Fakhry Hospitals, Abdulrahman Al Rajhi and Family Charitable Foundation. He also acts as a committee board member of the following entities: Awqaf Committee of East Province of the Chamber of Commerce. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from London South Bank University 2008, and he is a CFA level 2 candidate. Sheikh Faisal Al-Thani • Deputy Managing Director, Mærsk Oil, Qatar Dr. Al-Thani’s work in the oil and gas industry spans nearly 25 years, beginning his career as a well site petroleum engineer in Qatar Petroleum and working across functions including petroleum planning, reservoir engineering, economics and contracts. Dr. Al-Thani has also published a number of papers and books in the area of risk management and project finance. Dr. Al-Thani is chairman of the Qatar Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and a board member of the International Society of Petroleum Engineers, Dallas USA. Dr Al-Thani is a Fulbright Scholar of the University of Colorado, holding a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa; MSc in Project Management from the University of Bath and a PhD in Project Finance in the Oil & Gas Industry from Leeds University. Salman Al Jishi • Chairman, Salman Group, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mr. Al Jishi is a passionate and successful businessman, an affectionate family man and a compassionate philanthropist and is a well know personality in the political and business community. He hails from Al Qatif in Saudi Arabia but his ancestral roots find their way into Bahrain, where his grandfather was a successful businessman dealing with the world famous natural pearls of Bahrain. Mr. Al Jishi successfully handed over the management and operations of his wholly owned companies to competent Saudi nationals and delinked himself from the day-to-day operations in order to give priority to fulfilling his desire to set up large to mega scale projects. Qais Al Khonji • Chairman, Genesis Projects and Investments, Sultanate of Oman Mr. Al Khonji is also a young and dynamic entrepreneur, a Next-Generation Member of the Al Khonji Family. Genesis is a newly formed company focusing on higher education services and the further development of solar energy services, and meter readers for companies in Oman. With regards to higher education their focus is on providing students with a chance to be accepted to universities in Australia and India and are also looking for opportunities with the vocational institute. We are going to be training local Omanis in certain skill sets that are required for occupations that have been Omanised by the Ministry of Manpower. Mutassem Daaboul • CEO, Sama Madar Holding, Qatar A Managing Partner of CANEX Aluminium, and the Founder and Inventor of ALPIN Aluminium Produkt Innovation AG. He is a public speaker and lecturer in Family Business and Leadership, Coach and Mentor. He is a Member of Beta Gamma Sigma, and a Member of SYEA. Mr. Daaboul holds a BAS with Honours in Marketing, a Marketing Management Certificate and an MBA in Family Business. Nailesh Khimji • Director, Khimji Ramdas (KR) Group, Sultanate of Oman Mr. Khimji is widely experienced on account of multi-functional nature of the group’s business; and is a keen student of world economics and community affairs. He is also involved in strategy, policy and direction for HMCI, Roto Packing Materials Industry Co LLC among others. Educated in Switzerland: Institute Le Rosey, American College of Switzerland, Webster where he also worked with the leading multinational Procter and Gamble. Mr. Khimji is a Young Arab Leader, a Young Presidents Organisation member and has been very actively involved in the Entrepreneurs Organisation. Sultan Khaled Olayan • Next Generation Member, Olayan Group, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sultan Khaled Olayan is a 3rd generation family member and the son of The Group’s Chairman. The group is owned by him and his 3 sisters who actively manage The Olayan Group which was founded in 1947 and is a private, multinational enterprise with diverse commercial and industrial operations in the Middle East and an actively managed portfolio of international investments. Mr. Olayan was born in Saudi Arabia in 1988. Pursued his education in the KSA, in St. Moritz Switzerland and in the USA. Mr. Olayan recently joined a firm in Abu Dhabi called Waha Capital, however, he is still extremely involved in their family businesses as an external hobby and interest.

Coralie Zaccar • Head of Microinsurance Department, Commercial Insurance, Lebanon Commercial Insurance has pioneered in the development of microinsurance, insurance for the low income, which Ms. Zaccar leads in Lebanon and Iraq with new geographies in the pipeline. Ms. Zaccar is the third generation of a more than 50 year old insurance company which offers both life and non-life insurance services. In addition, she is leading the internal restructuring to better accomodate growth and geographical expansion of the company and is preparing the family constitution and succession planning. Coralie is an active member of the Family Business Network in Lebanon. Prior to that, she was a consultant at Booz & Co in both their financial and public sector industries. She holds a BBA from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, and an MBA from INSEAD (where she was president of the family business club).
