SEALUX CD2 the Underwater Housing for the Professional Nikon D2x Camera SEALUX CD2 the Underwater Housing for the professional Nikon D2x Camera For the digital Nikon D2x camera with the excellent features such as - picture quality - rapidity - user-friendliness We have designed the precision-fit housing CD2 so that you can use it fully also under water. Security, operation with minimal dimensions are the features of this housing. Amply-dimensioned O-rings, shafts that are sealed twice and keys that are even sealed fourfold ensure a maximum security. The camera is installed in the front part of the housing and does not have to be moved for the exchange of the storage card. Housing: Aluminium, milled out of the monoblock CNC, hard-anodised and specially sea-water proof sealed. One T-piece for flash arm, two additional ones on the handles. Standard Functions: ON-OFF / Display illumination, shutter release, exposure correction, Mode (exposure control), front and rear set- ting gear, BKT, flash synchronising system, zoom / focussing, AF-changeover M+S. Keys for replay, delete key, MENU, INDEX, ENTER, ISO, QUAL, WB (white balance), AE-L /AF-L, multifunctional selector, selector for AF-point selector. Three windows: for monitor viewing and backward display, upper display selector of functions Flash connection: one Nikon flash connection with fixed con- tacts. Closures: two flexible closures with safety lockings close the housing with high tension. Handle: with two T-pieces for fixing the flash arms. It is detachable. Special functions: Function selector switch with release. Special accessories: Housing: second flash socket, Nikon - flash socket with flexible contacts, S6 flash socket, moisture indicator. Viewfinder - the most important part of an underwater housing! You may choose from two variants of viewfinders GD-viewfinder (Grand) This SEALUX innovation gives the photographer a brilliant view- finder picture with the same quality as that of a sports viewfinder. The high-quality optical system, multicoated, enlarges the view- finder picture to a fantastic scale of reproduction. For this the eye- piece of the viewfinder is moved upwards, parallel to the lens. The viewfinder does not cover the monitor! This enables the pho- tographer to fully view of the picture, the setting data and to ob- serve the surroundings at the same time. A real action viewfinder! The viewfinder is most suitable for quick changing from vertical format to oblong format as well as for half-half photographs. Per- sons who wear glasses can still effect the diopter setting on the camera ocular. LD-viewfinder (Long Distance) enlarges the distance between camera and eye to such an extent that a complete picture can be looked at even with the diving mask. The coated optics makes a good reading of all data in the viewfinder with a scale of reproduc- tion of 1: 1.6 possible. Flash gun: For the reliable TTL-function we recommend the use of Nikon Digital Flash guns SB-800DX in the SEALUX CX800 housing plus the SEALUX flash arms CT20 – CT25. Other flash guns can be used in manual operation. Flat- and dome ports: All flat- and dome ports are cut of optical glass and make it possible to use the Nikon and Sigma lenses with best quality. All ports are supplied with protective cover. For macro lenses a manual focus can be in- stalled. Extension rings: They extend the range of application of the flat ports for different focal lengths with smallest packing dimen- sions. The proven SEALUX bayonet remains un- changed, all ports are compatible with the CF- and CN- construction series. Please choose the suitable SEALUX-port for your Nikkor lenses: Please choose the suitable SEALUX-port for your Sigma lenses: Further lenses from Nikon and Sigma as well as lenses from the manufacturers Tamron and Tokina on request. Continuity: By the constant exchange of experiences with the development teams of leading underwater photog- raphers you can be sure that you will get also in future modern and highly qualified products. Dimensions: L = 133mm B = 187mm H = 190mm Weight : 2750g Buoyancy /downward pressure : neutral, depending on the lens and port Tested by a depth of: 90m Guarantee: 2 years SEALUX - The easy way to perfect underwater photographs! .

  • Scuba Diving Masks and Swim Goggles When They're in the Water
Scuba Diving Masks and Swim Goggles When they’re in the water, swimmers and scuba divers who wear eyeglasses or contact lenses could benefit from prescription swim goggles. These special types of sports eyewear require a prescription that is different from a regular eyeglasses prescription because of the unique characteristics of an underwater environment. Water itself acts as a magnifier, which is why fish in a tank or other underwater objects sometimes appear larger than they actually are. Since light travels and bends differently through water than it does through air, your eye care professional will need to modify your eyeglasses prescription so your underwater sports eyewear gives you the same clear vision your glasses provide on dry land. Also, depending on the style of diving mask or swim goggles you choose, an adjustment to your prescription may be necessary because the corrective lenses may be positioned closer or farther from your eyes than the normal position of your eyeglass lenses. Scuba diving masks Prescription lenses for scuba diving masks are available in one of two forms: either the entire front of the mask is a prescription lens, or corrective lenses are inserted separately between the mask and your eyes. If the dive mask comes with prescription lenses, they may be either custommade for your vision correction needs, or they can come premade in a prescription for nearsightedness or farsightedness that is the same for both eyes. Most people who require corrective lenses have a similar prescription for both eyes, so a dive mask with premade lenses will usually provide adequate vision for reading gauges and maneuvering around underwater.

We see how Nikon’s D5 copes with ice-hockey boot camp Ice on the black sand beach at Jökulsárlón.raw ON THE ICE BEACH IT’S A DARK, SOMBRE WINTER’S DAY. The grey cloud is low, and the rain is steady, but the muted light is just perfect for the subject matter all around me, namely waves lapping around the artfully sculpted blocks of ice on the black sand. Now I’ve seen many images of this unique combination before – it’s an Icelandic photographic staple – but there’s no resisting the appeal of such stark, elemental beauty. In fact it’s a beauty that is enhanced by the flat lighting, a cold scene of black and blue with simple graphic appeal. But as so often is the case here in Iceland the conditions are difficult: apart from the rain, salty spray is being driven inshore off the waves and onto my increasingly crusty camera, lens and filter. So be it, such adversity is now familiar.
