Omaha has seven players drafted by National Hockey League teams on its roster, one shy of the program high, including incoming freshmen Luc Snuggerud and Tyler Vesel. Senior Dominic Zombo and sophomore Jake Guentzel return as the Mavericks’ leading scorers from last year after each player notched 34 points in 2013-14. Zombo had a career high 17 goals while Guentzel fell just one point shy of tying the school record for points by a freshman in a campaign that earned him NCHC All-Rookie Team honors. The Mavericks will be playing their final season at the CenturyLink Center in downtown Omaha in 2014-15 before moving to their new on-campus arena in the fall of 2015.
