Appendix 4 (Testing Phase Installation)

Manual Installation (before Apple distribution is setup)

Each iPod Touch or iPad will have at least one Apple iTunes account associated with it.

Windows Steps

Note: If you are updating the application or re-installing it, you need to follow the instructions in Step 1 below first to delete the existing application .

1. If you are installing an updated version or you need to re-install follow the instructions below before beginning the installation.

a. Delete the application from your iPod by pressing and holding the application until the menu screens begin to wiggle and an (X) appears in the upper corner. Release your touch and then touch the (X) on the application to delete it. Press the Home button to return to normal.

b. Open iTunes on your computer. Do not connect your iPod Touch at this point. From the Library List on the left of your iTunes screen, select the Apps Entry. Locate the WVEIS Health Info application in your list of applications. Right click on the icon and select “Delete.”

Confirm you want to delete it by selecting “Remove.”

Select “Move to Recycle Bin” to complete the application deletion.

2. The device you are to be using must be the one that had the UDID submitted to be included in the provisioning file.

3. Extract the compressed AscentHealth.zip file in a convenient location on your computer (example used \Temp folder ). Be sure to take notice of

4. The folder structure should look like the tree below.

5. Open iTunes on your computer. Do not connect your iPod Touch at this point. From the Library List on the left of your iTunes screen, select the Apps Entry

6. Open a Windows Explorer window and find the ascenthealthdev.mobileprovision file in the AscentHealth sub-folder (Not the higher level folder with the same name.) Drag and then Drop the file on to the iTunes Library Applications. This file contains the necessary information on your UDID’s to allow you to use the application.

7. Using Windows Explorer again, Drag then Drop the application folder AscentHealth.app on to the iTunes Library Applications.

8. Verify that the application appears in your iTunes list of applications.

9. Connect your device to your computer. When it appears in iTunes Devices, select your device and chose the Apps tab. Locate the application and make sure the check box is checked.

10. Sync your device by clicking on the [Sync] button or [Apply] button in iTunes.

11. If you are installing an updated version or you need to re-install follow the instructions below before beginning.
