Press Release Condemn infringement of ethics of a state

On 7 August 2021, Ms. Linda Thomas-Greenfield, Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations in New York released a statement in connection with the arrests of suspects who were planning to injure or kill U Kyaw Moe Tun, a dismissed civil servant of Myanmar. The said plot which was happened among the residents inside the United States of America should be taken actions in accordance with the law of the land. Myanmar has nothing to do with this incident. The former Permanent Representative of Myanmar, U Kyaw Moe Tun, was dismissed as a civil servant since the morning of 27 February 2021 in accordance with the Civil Services Law, rules and regulations due to incompliance with the instruction from the country; abuse of his assigned mandate and duty; and following the instructions of unlawful and terrorist organizations, the so-called Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the so-called National Unity Government (NUG), and he is currently under warrant of arrest for committing high treason. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already informed the State Department of the United States of America for the extradition of U Kyaw Moe Tun to Myanmar on 12 July 2021. The demand for extradition of U Kyaw Moe Tun who is to be taken legal actions according to the laws of a sovereign state has not been carried out yet. The remarks by the Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations are the accusation on Myanmar. Such behavior violates the principles of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations which needs to be followed by a diplomat. Accordingly, Myanmar strongly objects and rejects it. Moreover, the support to U Kyaw Moe Tun who will be taken legal actions of Myanmar is far from the ethics among the United Nations member states. Myanmar also strongly condemns it. Furthermore, Myanmar insists to follow the basic principles of non-interference and mutual respect which are fundamentally stipulated in the Charter of the United Nations.

THE globe has overcome various pandemics in the past. Although various pandemics such as plague and smallpox diseases can be controlled in the advance- ment of medical technologies at present, respiratory disease COVID-19 may cause infections whenever breathing. If public cooperation lacks, it is sure to difficultly control the disease. It can be seen that even developed and developing countries are yet to perform control, prevention and treatment of the disease on the upper hand. Even in the United States, hospitals cannot give adequate accommodation to patients, facing shortages of ventilators and air fresheners. So, the patients are receiving treatments at home. The problem of oxygen is a difficulty for the countries facing the outbreak of disease. Myanmar’s neigh- bouring countries India and Indonesia are facing severe problems.
