• Connect this product to your smart device using a USB type C UD Link cable.

※ For optimal use of this product, the “UD Link” app must be installed and a PD adapter must be connected.

5 /20 3. How to Use the UD Link App

1) What is UD Link?

① "UD Link" is an application that can be installed on [Android Tablet / Smart Phone] (hereinafter, smart devices) to play or copy from CD/DVD, play audio, extract audio CDs, backup data, create audio CDs, etc.

② In order to use the CD/DVD features of the "UD Link" app, you need to connect the Universal Data Station (hereinafter, UD drive) or a supported DVD drive to the smart device.

2) Installing the App

The "UD Link" app can be installed for free from the Google Play Store. ① Go to the home screen of the smart device. ② Launch “Google Play Store” from the app list. ③ Search for “UD Link” in the Google Play Store of your smart device and install it.

3) Using Features

 Running the App ① Connect the UD drive and smart device with the enclosed USB cable. ② In the dialog for execution selection, select “UD Link” or select “UD Link” installed from the list of apps on the home screen of the smart device to execute.

③ “Disk Explorer” appears on the first screen after running the app.

 Disk Recognition

When a user’s CD/DVD is inserted into the connected UD drive, the main functions required for the disc are automatically executed after the “recognition” process.

- Data disk : Disk Explorer - Audio CD : Play audio CD - Blank disk : Back up data (Blank CD-R, DVD±R)

You can play the files on the disc and copy or delete them to your smart device.

- Device Storage : Smart device’s internal storage - External Storage : USB Memory, External HDD , etc. - Optical Disc Drive : CD, DVD Disk

 Play Audio

It plays audio CDs through smart devices and provides various playback screens for user convenience.

 Gracenote

Supports display of album cover, title & track information through Gracenote. (Network connection required) ※ Right after the audio CD is recognized, Gracenote is executed and the information is displayed along with the playback screen.

 Audio CD Extraction

Rip the tracks of the desired audio CD to your smart device. ※ The default path for extraction is saved as a folder named title in the /UD Link folder of the internal storage.

 Data Backup

Data from smart devices is recorded (stored) on a disk, and internal and external storage files are stored on recordable CDs and DVDs.

※ Data backup button : Add file : Delete files to be recorded : Delete all files to be recorded

※ Data backup process ① Insert recordable disc into UD drive (automatically goes to “Data Backup”) ② Click the "Add File" button and select a folder or file to back up ③ Start backup with “Data Backup” button ④ Change the backup disk name (If necessary) ⑤ Complete data backup

 How to Create an Audio CD

You can write audio files to a disc and then create an audio CD. You can play the finished audio CD on your home or car CD player.

※ Create Audio CD button : Add audio track : Delete audio track to be recorded : Delete all audio tracks to be recorded

※ Recordable disc format : CD-R ※ Recordable audio file format : FLAC, MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, AAC ※ Process of creating an audio CD

① Insert a recordable CD-R disc into the UD drive and go to Create Audio CD. ② Click the “+” square button and select the album title and album image (Image appears when playing back with UD Link on the recorded device) ③ Click the "Add Audio Track" button and select an audio file to record ④ Start CD recording with “Create CD” button ⑤ Complete creating an audio CD

5) USB PD Charging (Max. 60W) : It is an input port for power. For stable UD product use, power supply to the PD port is required. For fast charging, you must use a device that supports fast charging and a power adapter that supports PD.

If used without PD input, charging of the main device may not be possible, and the drive function may be limited.

15 /20 5. Troubleshooting - Optical Disc Drive

 New software update recommended

• For the optimal used of this product, be sure to update the Android device (smart device) OS and app to the latest version.

• Depending on the Android device's installation environment and hardware performance, this product's functions may not work optimally.

 If you cannot play a DVD

• If it cannot be played, remove the disc and insert it again. • Close the app and restart it.

 If the app does not respond

• If you cannot control the app, shutdown the app by force and run it again. (Select "Settings" (gear icon) - "Apps" - "UD Link" on the home screen and run "Force Shutdown")

 How to check the app version?

• You can check the version by selecting "Settings" (gear icon) - "Apps" - "UD Link" on the home screen.

 How to stop automatic run of the app when connecting to DVD drive?

• If you select "Settings" (gear icon) - "Apps" - "UD Link" on the home screen and run "Delete Default Settings", the app will not start automatically.

 If you cannot play a video on the data disc

• If you record and play UHD (4K) level video on a CD disc, you may have exceeded the bit rate, and playback may be delayed or stopped.

• In this case, it is recommended to use it only for data backup purposes.

 If DVD drive is not recognized

• If this product is not recognized by an Android device (smart device), check if the device support OTG function.

16 /20 5. Troubleshooting - Optical Disc Drive

 What codecs does UD Link support?

• UD Link uses external Player/Codec for playback compatibility. 1) Audio CD: Playback using UD Link built-in Player/Codec 2) General video/music files: Playback using external apps such as VLC player, MX player, etc.

• For issues concerning non-supported codecs, select another Player to play.

17 /20 5. Troubleshooting - Multi Hub

 Use of PD adapter recommended

• For the optimal use of this product, it is recommended to use a USB PD adapter. (Especially, it is recommended to connect the adapter for Android devices.)

• When using this product without a separate power connection, functions may not work optimally.

• Current consumption differs according to each mode of use as shown below.

(1) When using only the drive function: About 1,000mA

(2) When using only the USB/SD (memory) function excluding the drive: About 500mA

(3) When using drive and USB/SD function at the same time: About 1,500mA or more

* When connecting an external hard disk or a USB fan to the USB port, functions may be limited.

Be sure to connect USB PD before use.

 When disconnecting or connecting USB PD power during use

• Data in use may be cut off or may not operate properly. • When removing power to USB PD, stop file transfer or recording before proceeding.

 When charging the host device

• PD adapter connection is recommended.

• If a QC or general charger power source or USB PD adapter lower than the rating of the host device instead of USB PD adapter is connected, the host device may not charge or the speed may be slow. Please check the power supply suitable for the rating of the host device.

18 /20 5. Troubleshooting - Multi Hub

 When the host device has insufficient power

• In case of insufficient power of the host device, power limitation for the USB port may occur.

In that case, features may become restricted or a warning message can be issued.

 Issues related to some tablet compatibility

• In some products that use the USB2.0 standard Type-C port, it may not be recognized properly when power is supplied to USB PD.

The above problem is caused by abnormal behavior of certain devices.

 Heat generated during use

• Due to the nature of the Hub product, some heat may occur during use.

• Be careful when using metallic USB memory.

 When HDMI output is not working properly (*Only for UD10NS20 model.)

• Check if the HDMI cable is properly connected.

• Please check if the USB cable connected to the host device is a cable provided by our company.

You must use a cable that supports DP ALT mode.

• Even if the cable specification and connection are correct, if the host device does not support HDMI output, the output will not work.

(Please check the USB C-port specification of your main device.)
