Prayer to the Risen Christ Lord Jesus Christ, You have taken the sting from death and robbed the grave of its victory. In holy Baptism, you have given us a share also in your risen life. We thank You for the good things we have received from your bountiful love. We bless you for the courage to carry our daily burdens. We praise you for the salvation you have won for us. When we shall have finished the work which the Father gave us to do here, be to us a gentle saviour. May we seek you eagerly, find you surely, and share in your unfailing triumph for all ages of ages Alleluia Alleluia

Christ is risen, alleluia! Easter greetings to everyone in our parish. Welcome to family members who are spending these days at home with loved ones; welcome to those visiting the area for this Easter weekend.

As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, may I acknowledge and thank all who have prepared for the ceremonies of Holy Week and Easter, and for all who have come to the church to take part. Sincere thanks to sacristans, altar servers and their supervisors, to everyone who has taken part in the various ministries of the parish and to all who have decorated our churches. As we mark the joyful occasion of Jesus’ rising from the dead, we think of those who struggle to believe – that our faith may encourage them in that struggle. We think too of anyone who finds it difficult to be joyful at this time – particularly those who are ill, those who have been bereaved and anyone who is despairing of life at this time. May the Good News of this Easter Day touch our hearts so that we may bring God’s peace and joy to each other.

Fr. Cathal Easter Blessing May the Lord bless you this Easter time; Bless you with faith, guard you against doubt; Bless you with hope, uplift you in despair; Bless you with love, keep you from fear; Bless you with peace, calm you in trouble; Bless you with mercy, help you forgive; Bless you with joy, comfort you in sorrow; So your heart may rejoice in the risen Lord. Amen.
