The Po delta covers a surface of about 1300 km 2 of reclaimed lands, fresh- and salt-water lagoons, low sedimentary shores and emerging sandy banks. Its evolution has been extremely complex and several historical deltas have been ~ ~ 7# --% 1&-Ut recognized. Up to the end of the Middle Ages, the coastal morphology of ancient cuspidate deltas appears to have been shaped basically by natural processes. On the contrary, the formation of the modern lobate delta has been largely the result of human intervention. The Po delta is one of the largest in the Mediterranean. It contains areas of great natural beauty and monuments of historical interest and has been recognized as an internationally important wetland.

    “INNOCULTOUR - Innovazione e promozione del patrimonio culturale dell’Adriatico come driver per lo sviluppo turistico” è un progetto di cooperazione europea fi nanziato dal programma Ita- lia Croazia – INTERREG V A 2014 2020 fi nalizzato ad aumentare la visibilità e l’accessibilità di siti di rilevanza culturale e naturalistica meno noti al grande pubblico, situati nei territori costieri di ltalia e Croazia. Partendo dai risultati ottenuti con il progetto MUSEUMCULTUR, fi - nanziato nel periodo 2007-2013 da IPA ADRIATICO, INNOCULTOUR si è focalizzato sulle nuove forme di integrazione tra il patrimonio culturale, l’offerta turistica e l’industria creativa attraverso l’appli- cazione e l’adozione di nuove tecnologie. DELTA 2000 è il capofi la del progetto a cui partecipano anche la Re- gione Molise, la Regione Veneto, l’Agenzia di Sviluppo della Contea Dalmazia di Spalato e il Museo di Storia Naturale di Rijeka. Otto sono i siti museali coinvolti dal progetto: il Museo del Bosco e del Cervo di Mesola; il Museo del Sale di Cervia e il centro visite Saline di Cervia nel territorio del Delta del Po; la rete dei Musei e dei Castelli del Fortore Molisano; il Museo di Chioggia; il Museo dei Grandi Fiumi di Rovigo; gli ethno eco villages sull’Isola di dove, come, Hvar (Humac, Velo Grablje, Malo Grablje e Rudine); la sede principa- le del Museo di Rijeka; l’esposizione permanente di Kaštel Zrinskih.
