From the Audi R10 TDI Straight Into the A4 DTM
Ingolstadt, 19 March 2006 Motorsport / 21 days until the start of the 2006 DTM From the Audi R10 TDI straight into the A4 DTM • Le Mans record winner Tom Kristensen swaps in no time at all Spending a lot of time with the family or pursuing hobbies such as cycling and jet skiing at home in Hobro, Denmark, are unlikely propositions for Tom Kristensen AUDI AG this year. In the 2006 season, the 38-year-old Audi factory driver is shouldering as Kommunikation 85045 Ingolstadt many as two racing commitments: In the Audi A4 DTM, he contests Europe’s www.audi.com most popular touring car series which is scheduled to start at Hockenheim on April 9th and, in addition, he is part of Audi’s ambitious diesel project in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The differences between these two racing disciplines notwithstanding, there is one thing they have in common: Tom Kristensen is considered one of the hot favourites in both. As many as seven times Kristensen has won the world’s most famous endurance race in France, now being the record holder. After his victory in the Audi R10 TDI at Sebring (Florida) this weekend, the new diesel sportscar’s debut, the Dane will be flying on Sunday night directly from Miami to London, where the official DTM tests at Brands Hatch are scheduled to start on Monday. There, Kristensen will be taking the wheel of his new Audi A4 DTM – bearing the internal designation “R12 plus” – for the first time. Yet the record holder has no problem switching from the 650-hp open-air sports prototype to the DTM touring car in which he claimed third place in the Championship last year: “No matter whether I climb into the R10 TDI or the A4 DTM – I always immediately feel that I’m sitting in an Audi.” Tomorrow: Tests in the DTM – every day counts Communication Motorsport Telephone +49 (0)841 89 34200, fax +49 (0)841 89 38617 E-Mail [email protected] Photographs, sound bites and additional information on the Internet: www.audi-motorsport.info (Accreditation necessary) 1/1 . -

The success story began with the Audi quattro Excluding the era before the Second World War including the legendary Auto Union Grand Prix race cars in the 1930s, the motorsport history of AUDI AG began with the Audi quattro. The dominant victories and two manufacturers’ and two drivers’ titles achieved with the “original quattro” in the World Rally Championship between 1982 and 1984 were an important factor in the market success of quattro drive. quattro victorious in circuit racing as well After Audi had turned rally racing upside down and stormed up Pikes Peak (USA) with the Sport quattro in record time on three successive occasions, Audi made quattro drive fit for circuit racing as well: initially with the Audi 200 quattro and the Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO in the United States, in 1990 and 1991 with two championship titles for the Audi V8 quattro in the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) – and ultimately also with the A4 in the production- based super touring cars. In 1996, the Audi A4 quattro won championship titles in seven countries. Between 2012 and 2016, the all-wheel drive system returned to the race track as the e-tron quattro. Audi MediaInfo Communications Model Lines, Innovation and Technology Stefanie Melander Phone: +49 841 89-38053 E-mail: [email protected] www.audi-mediacenter.com The Audi S5 models now with a TDI engine Powerful 3.0 TDI engine with 255 kW (347 hp and 700 Nm (516.3 lb-ft) 48-volt mild hybrid technology and electric powered compressor Ideal combination of efficiency and sportiness Ingolstadt, April 17, 2019 – For the first time ever, the Audi S5 has a V6 diesel under the hood. The 3.0 TDI engine in the S5 Coupé TDI and the S5 Sportback TDI (Combined fuel consumption for both models in l/100 km: 6.2 (37.9 US mpg)*; Combined CO2 emissions in g/km: 163 – 161 g/km (262.3 – 259.1 g/mi)*) produces 255 kW (347 hp) and delivers up to 700 Nm (516.3 lb-ft) of torque to the crankshaft. An electric powered compressor provides for strong off-the-line performance; a mild hybrid system enhances efficiency. This combination of power, torque and efficiency makes the S5 unique in its segment. The 3.0 TDI engine: brawny torque The 3.0 TDI in the S5 models is the most powerful version in the Audi V6 diesel engine lineup. Its combination of performance and efficiency sets it apart in this segment. Output is 255 kW (347 hp), and 700 Nm (516.3 lb-ft) of torque is available between 2,500 and 3,100 rpm. Despite significantly greater performance, NEDC consumption derived from the WLTP values for the S5 Coupé TDI and the S5 Sportback TDI is just 6.2 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers (37.9 US mpg), a CO2 equivalent of 161 grams per kilometer (259.1 g/mi). -
