BN rep ridiculed on Guan Eng's 'armoured vehicle' MalaysiaKini.com Oct 13, 2014 PARLIAMENT A BN MP today earned ridicule after he raised Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's alleged purchase of a RM2.3 million armoured vehicle that was circulated by pro-Umno bloggers. Zahidi Zainul Abidin (BN-Padang Besar) (right) had interrupted Opposition Anwar Ibrahim who was debating the budget speech in Parliament to accuse Lim of purchasing the luxury sports utility vehicle. However, Khalid Samad (PAS-Shah Alam) stood up and laughed at him, pointing out that the rumour was circulated by pro-Umno groups and Zahidi appear to have believed in his own party's propaganda. "Padang Besar was tricked into believing Umno cyber troopers' propaganda that the chief minister bought a RM2 million vehicle. "This is hilarious, when there are too many lies, even the liar starts believing in his own lies. "Don't believe in Umno cyber troopers, they are all useless," he said, riling up fellow MPs from Umno. Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim (BN-Baling) then stood up and took Khalid to task for belittling Umno. "Look at Permatang Pauh (Anwar), he can debate civilly without attacking Umno, but you must cause disruptions," he said At this, Khalid (left) cheekily responded: "Permatang Pauh has Permatang Pauh's way and Shah Alam has Shah Alam's way". Anwar later weighed into the argument, stressing that the alleged RM2 million sum is untrue. He added that when Lim first purchased his new official vehicle for RM300,000, he had been transparent about it. Pro-Umno blogs last week circulated a photograph of a Conquest Knight IV which was allegedly bought for Lim at RM2,2982,63.75, supposedly for the chief minister's safety. The story appeared on Facebook with a disclaimer that it was just satire, but those bloggers did not appear to have understood the humour. Copyright © 1999-2012 Mkini Dotcom Sdn.
