Community Resource Guide September 2018 Stephens County Community Resource Guide September 2018 Linking Youth and Families to Community Resources Family Connection of Stephens County, Inc. PO Box 2253, Toccoa, GA 30577 706-898-5116 www.stephens.gafcp.org Stephens County Community Resource Guide 2018-2019 Edition Family Connection of Stephens County, Inc. wants all children to be healthy, ready to start school and do well when they get there. We also want all families to be stable and self-sufficient. Our mission is to identify and monitor areas of community concern and to mobilize the community and its resources in a common effort to develop solutions. This directory is one approach to getting the information about what is available in our community into the hands of those who live in our community! This directory contains a wealth of resources available to facilitate our goals as an agency. The first section contains a quick find index with contact numbers. The second section contains more detailed information about each agency. Our goal is to provide an easy-to-use directory; therefore, we welcome your comments and suggestions for future editions. Service providers are invited to add their information to the directory at no cost. Every time a provider joins us, our resource guide becomes more useful to people in our community. We invite you to print a copy of the directory and display it for all to use. This directory is meant to be shared. The more people who have access to the directory and its information increases the people who have access to the resources available in our wonderful community. Thanks to Sandra Reese for her hard work in updating and editing this year’s directory. A special thank you to Toccoa Falls College and the Northeast Georgia Employer Committee for their generous contribution to the printing cost. Sincerely, Noel Pauley Stephens County Coordinator To add your organization or make changes to the directory please contact [email protected] or 706-898-5116 2 QUICK FIND INDEX Abuse: Circle of Hope (battered women) 800-334-2836 Department of Family and Children Services 706-282-4505 F.A.I.T.H. UNITED WAY OF NORTHEAST GEORGIA 2017 ANNUAL REPORT 2017 was filled with countless challenges and even greater opportunities. What a blessing it has been - that throughout our LETTER FROM struggles - we continue to grow. This is a testament to both the giving nature of our region and your belief in us. This is a responsibility we do THE PRESIDENT not take lightly, and it is evident in everything we do. During these turbulent times, it would be difficult to find a mission more vital than providing access to quality education, financial stability, and a healthy lifestyle to every person in Northeast Georgia. It would also be difficult to assemble a team more dedicated to this cause than those at UWNEGA. It has been an honor to work alongside some of the most passionate, capable, innovative, and committed individuals that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. THANK YOU! Thank you for investing in our region. Thank you for supporting our team and embracing each of us individually. As many United Ways across the country have seen consistent decline, we experienced our largest campaign ever! Last year we said it would take the entire region, and this year you proved it. Thank you, Northeast Georgia, for demonstrating exactly what it means to LIVE UNITED.
