Earlier this month HMG-CN was granted a sneak preview of the newly renovated Downey City Library and their many state-of-the-art upgrades. This past Saturday May 22, the official ribbon was cut and the library is now almost fully reopened. “The reopening of this facility has been three years in the making,” remarked Executive Director Ben Dickow. “The City Council has been instrumental in supporting the renovation of the library. It had not been updated in 40 years, but thanks to Measure S we were able to bring the library into the 21 Century.” The library staff was actively involved in all of the ideas and rethought the operation of what a future library should be.
