In 2020, the Tigers went 7-3 overall, losing just one game against region 2021 SCHEDULE opponents and hosting a playoff game for the first time in many years. Fayette went out with a Aug. 20 Midtown bang, losing a 41-35 shootout to North Oconee in round one. Led by coach Nick Davis, Fayette is facing a different challenge: fighting complacency. Aug. 27 at Whitewater Coach Davis made it clear that the team has a different group of players this year, as many Sept. 3 at McIntosh leaders of the past have graduated, stating that the young team will need to group together to repeat the success of last season. Sept. 10 Morrow “We can’t afford to go backward, we can’t afford to start over,” Davis said. “That’s what happens, you have success one year, and then you go back to a 2-9 or 1-8 season. It’s just like Sept. 17 at Hampton you started your whole program over.” Oct. 1 North Clayton The Tigers face one of the most challenging tasks a high school team can: create a winning identity or fall back to a perpetual state of mediocrity. The team is confident that they will not Oct. 8 at McDonough underestimate their opponents and remain a threat across their region with their sights on a Oct. 15 Riverdale deep run in the playoffs for 2021. Oct. 21 at Mt. Zion OFFENSE Dustin Waters returns at quarterback after starting in multiple games as a junior. Waters took over last season when the team’s starting quarterback injured his knee. Inexperi- Oct. 29 Luella ence showed for Waters as he was tasked with a lot, something coach Davis says has made the quarterback a better player this year. “He had a really good offseason. He’s actually having fun.” Davis said. “The game is really slowing down for him. Last year we put a bunch on his plate, and mentally, not that he couldn’t handle it, just that he was inexperienced, he wasn’t ready for it. I’m really excited to see what he does this year.” At B-Back for the Tigers, senior Michael Graham, junior Myles Howard, and senior Ca- naan Johnson will hold down running responsibilities. Coach Davis touched on the athleticism of Johnson, noting that the team has lots of depth in the backfield. “He had some big games last year late in the season. He’s a big back, so we expect a lot out of him.” Davis said. At tailback, Fayette features sophomore Javon Graham and Brandon Moss, as well as Johnson. Coach Davis men- tioned the ability of Javon Gra- ham but noted that the player would need to grow into his role and trust in his abilities. Wide receivers and two-way starters Keion Bryant and Kyle Butler return as the team’s top two pass-catching options. Sophomore Phoenix Moss will also play at wide receiv- er. At tight end, 6’3” Ryan Hannah-Brown will make his return to the team, as well as KYLE BUTLER junior Desmond Waters. DUSTIN WATERS Fayette’s offensive line features just one senior in Jordan Bridges, who will return to the left tackle, with Jordan Jackson at the left guard position. Junior Jor- dan Darden will secure the other side of the line at right tackle, and junior Ayden Payne will anchor the line at center. Junior Chaz Milling will start at right guard on the line. DEFENSE Fayette will base out of the 4-4 defensive set, allowing the team a level of flexibility while putting key players in position to make big-time plays. The defensive line will be anchored by defensive ends Jordan Jackson and Car- los Wall. Coach Davis said both players have natural talent and possess the ability to pick up accolades as the season progresses. “Jordan Jackson has a shot to be an all-region player. He played real well for us down the stretch last year.” Davis said. “Carlos Wall will be a rising sophomore, and we’re excited about his growth and potential,” Canaan Johnson also seeing some playing time at the edge-rushing position. Seniors Jordan Bridges and Elijah Olive will work together as the interior of the defensive line. Senior Donald Godfrey and junior Brandon Moss maintain the in- terior positions at linebacker, while Desmond Waters and Keion Bryant, who will also slide up to weak safety depending on the situation, will handle the outside linebacker positions. In the secondary, Dustin Waters and Nicholas Taylor make up the free safety position. Kyle Butler and Cameron Williams will take the starting roles at the cor- nerback position, with sophomore Marcus Collins also rotating in at the position. SPECIAL TEAMS Fayette will have freshman Josh Hosmer punting the ball, with Nollie Brown also competing for the role. Kyle Butler, Keion Bryant, and Phoenix MICHAEL ORUSA Moss will handle return duties for the team. Long snapper and rising senior Matthew Wilson return sto the team. Coach Davis praised Wilson for his devotion to the game as well as the program. “He loves Fayette County football,” Davis said. “He’s just one of those kids, from an athletic standpoint, who is a big kid and hasn’t really been able to get any time on the offensive line or defensive line, and he comes in every day and works hard. I mean, he loves Fayette County football.” ANALYSIS Fayette County boasts an extensive roster, and despite not having as many seniors as previous seasons, they still have enough veterans to make an impact. Both sides of the ball will see familiar faces as many of the team’s best players start in multiple positions.

  • The Following Players Comprise the College Football Great Teams 2 Card Set
COLLEGE FOOTBALL GREAT TEAMS OF THE PAST 2 SET ROSTER The following players comprise the College Football Great Teams 2 Card Set. The regular starters at each position are listed first and should be used most frequently. Realistic use of the players below will generate statistical results remarkably similar to those from real life. IMPORTANT: When a Red "K" appears in the R-column as the result on any kind of running play from scrimmage or on any return, roll the dice again, refer to the K-column, and use the number there for the result. When a player has a "K" in his R-column, he can never be used for kicking or punting. If the symbol "F-K" or "F-P" appears on a players card, it means that you use the K or P column when he recovers a fumble. Players in bold are starters. If there is a difference between the player's card and the roster sheet, always use the card information. The number in ()s after the player name is the number of cards that the player has in this set. See below for a more detailed explanation of new symbols on the cards. 1971 NEBRASKA 1971 NEBRASKA 1972 USC 1972 USC OFFENSE DEFENSE OFFENSE DEFENSE EB: Woody Cox End: John Adkins EB: Lynn Swann TA End: James Sims Johnny Rodgers (2) TA TB, OA Willie Harper Edesel Garrison Dale Mitchell Frosty Anderson Steve Manstedt John McKay Ed Powell Glen Garson TC John Hyland Dave Boulware (2) PA, KB, KOB Tackle: John Grant Tackle: Carl Johnson Tackle: Bill Janssen Chris Chaney Jeff Winans Daryl White Larry Jacobson Tackle: Steve Riley John Skiles Marvin Crenshaw John Dutton Pete Adams Glenn Byrd Al Austin LB: Jim Branch Cliff Culbreath LB: Richard Wood Guard: Keith Wortman Rich Glover Guard: Mike Ryan Monte Doris Dick Rupert Bob Terrio Allan Graf Charles Anthony Mike Beran Bruce Hauge Allan Gallaher Glen Henderson Bruce Weber Monte Johnson Booker Brown George Follett Center: Doug Dumler Pat Morell Don Morrison Ray Rodriguez John Kinsel John Peterson Mike McGirr Jim Stone ET: Jerry List CB: Jim Anderson TC Center: Dave Brown Tom Bohlinger Brent Longwell PC Joe Blahak Marty Patton CB: Charles Hinton TB.

Welcome to the autumn edition of Tales From The Woods magazine, a busy time for us all at this moment in time. At the end of this very month of October we shall be at London’s legendary 100 Club, and we all here at TFTW are in a state of excited anticipation in readiness for our return to this, the oldest music venue in London and possibly the UK, that has seen countless venues come and go, some lost to the passage of time since it first opened its doors in the heart of London’s west end amidst the carnage and destruction of World War II an incredible 75 years ago. The legend that is our wonderful headliner, Tommy Hunt, former member of doo- wop royalty in his native USA with The Flamingos, later to have huge hits and following as a bona fide soul man, a particular hero on the British northern soul circuit, is so looking forward to performing for us, on a show dedicated to that golden age of doo-wop back in the late fifties and early sixties.
