Saturday, May 16

MORNING & EARLY AFTERNOON- Arrivals into Rome airports

We will gladly help you coordinate private drivers for your airport transfers. A private driver will wait for you in the airport, with a sign with your name on it. The driver will then take you in a luxury vehicle to your hotel in Rome at a cost of 40euros (payable in cash directly to your driver).

LATE AFTERNOON PROGRAM-

15:00pm- Meet at Largo Angelicum, 1 (Transportation not included; call taxis from your hotel, use Uber or FreeNow apps, or arrive on foot.)

15:30pm- Enjoy a golf cart ride around the quaint streets and charming squares of Rome's Centro Storico

18:00pm- Return to the Angelicum & proceed up to the Sala Torretta for a sunset reception affording views over all of Rome

19:15pm- Continue on foot to a local trattoria for opening night dinner

20:45pm- Return to group hotel by private transfer

Sunday, May 17

8:30am- Meet at the Piazza San Pietro, proceed with security screening. Some special VIP reserved seating will be available for early- registered guests and Angelicum donors

10:00am- Mass in St. Peter's Square with the Holy Father to celebrate the 100th birthday of Pope St. John Paul II.

11:20am- Proceed to local rooftop for Angelus, followed by brunch. En route, there will be a brief amount of time to shop for religious articles. These can articles will be blessed by the Holy Father during the Angelus.

12:00pm- Angelus Blessing with the Holy Father,

12:30pm- Brunch on a rooftop terrace overlooking St Peter's Square

13:30pm- Continue in vans onto the Colosseum to enjoy a special entrance at the Arena level, followed by a visit to the special sections Roman Forum & Palatine Hill. Learn about the Roman Empire & interesting Early Christian History !

16:30pm- Continue on foot to share a unique visit to the excavations of the Basilica San Clemente. Afterwards, enjoy a short, chanted prayer service with the Dominican friars of the San Clemente community.

18:30pm- Continue on foot to a nearby bar/ cafe. There, you will enjoy a typical Roman evening aperitivo (wine and appetizers) with your new friends, to celebrate a great Roman Sunday. Afterwards, enjoy an early evening and dinner on your own.

Monday, May 18

7:10am- Meet in the hotel lobby for departure to St. Peter's Square

7:30am- Entrance into St. Peter's Basilica, via security check-points

8:00am-Special Mass with Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, former private secretary to JPII & retired Archbishop of Krakow at the Tomb of Pope St. John Paul II

9:00am- Visit to the Cupola (Dome) of Michelangelo, including an opportunity to stop on the rooftop cafe for cappuccino, cornetto, and souvenir shopping

10:00am- Brief private-guided visit to St. Peter's Basilica

11:15am- Walk to the entrance of the Vatican Museums

11:30am- Proceed to enter the museums for a narrated eco-bus ride through the stunning Vatican Gardens

13:00pm- Continue on foot to a local, gourmet Osteria for an amazing lunch.

15:00pm- Return to your hotels for siesta (Transportation not included; call taxis from your hotel, use Uber or FreeNow apps, or walk.)

17:00pm- Meet at the Angelicum for the official Inauguration of the John Paul II Academic Chair. (Transportation not included; call taxis from your hotel, use Uber or FreeNow apps, or walk.)

18:30pm- Reception at the Angelicum with students, professors, Vatican leaders, and visiting international dignitaries and diplomats.

Tuesday, May 19 (TBA - optional morning Mass) All meals, transfers, and activities are included in this full-day program

9:45am- Drive out to Castelgandolfo to visit the Papal Gardens &

11:00am- Visit to the Apostolic Palace of Castelgandolfo

12:30pm- Break for a light lunch in the quaint town of Castelgandolfo

15:00pm- Visit to the Apostolic Gardens of Villa Barbierini

17:00pm- Continue onto local winery

17:45pm- Wine tour and tasting, followed by a lavish country meal in the Castelli Romani

21:00pm- Return to the hotel in Rome

Wednesday, May 20

8:30am- Depart from the hotel for a pilgrimage to the Major Papal Basilicas of Rome. Vans will bring you and Jill, your private guide, along on a classic pilgrimage to:

11:30am- Arrive at the Angelicum, and experience the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas by participating in a short class.

12:15pm- Join us for a fun pizza lunch with Angelicum students and professors. Meet students from all over the globe & get to kow the future leaders of the developing world AND the future servants of the worldwide Church.

1:15pm- Siesta & Afternoon on-your-own (Transportation not included; make your own way back to the hotel at your leisure.)

EVENING PROGRAM Exact times subject to change

17:00pm- Meet in hotel lobby for transfers to the Vatican Museums

17:30pm- Enter the Vatican Museums after-hours for semi-private access to the galleries and collections

19:30pm- 15 to 20 minutes of private quiet time, exclusively for our group, inside the
