DISCUSSION:
The Walk of Fame Conunittee ofthe Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has submitted a request for insertion into the Hollywood Walk of Fame the name of Simon Baker. The ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, February 14,2013 at 11:30 a.m.
The conununicant's request is in accordance with City Council action of October 18, 1978, under Council File No. 78-3949. Following the Council's action of approval, and upon proper application and payment of the required fee, an installation permit can be secured at 201 N. Figueroa Street 3rd Floor; Counter 23.

SIMON BAKER - BIOGRAPHY
Simon Baker portrays Patrick Jane, an independent consultant who has a remarkable track record for solving crimes and a penchant for breaking protocol, in Warner Bros. Television's hit series, "The Mentalist," currently in its fifth season on CBS. Baker has also received Emmy, Golden Globe and a SAG nominations for the role.
Previously, Baker had starred as Nick Fallin in the CBS drama "The Guardian," from 2001 M04.He wah widespread critical praise for his portrayal of a hardened corporate lawyer sentenced to work as a legal child advocate after being found guilty of drug possession. In the first season, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association recognized Baker with a Golden Globe nomination for best actor in a drama series.
In 2007, Baker made the transition from television star to big screen leading man with two diverse roles. In the critically acclaimed feature The Devil Wears Prada, Baker starred opposite Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway as the dashing Christian Thompson. In the romantic comedy Something New, Baker played a working class landscaper who falls in love with an uptight professional African-American played.by Sanaa Lathan.
Baker first gained widespread attention in the acclaimed feature film L.A. Confidential, following this success with a string of memorable performances in An Affair of the Necklace, Red Planet, Sunset Strip, Judas Kiss and the horror sequel The Ring 2, opposite Naomi Watts and Sissy Spacek.
Baker garnered acclaim for his turn in the independent film Book of Love, which screened in competition at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. Baker was part of the all-star cast of Ang Lee's critically acclaimed Ride With the Devil, which screened at the 1999 Deanville Film Festival and was also a gala presentation at the 1999 Toronto Film Festival.
Baker's other film credits include Sex and Death 101 and Land of the Dead (a critically acclaimed thriller COM starring Dennis Hopper and John Leguizamo), as well as the independent films Restaurant, Love from Ground Zero, Not Forgotten, Women in Trouble and The Killer Inside Me, which debuted at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. In 2011, he co-starred alongside Kevin Spacey, Demi Moore and Zachary Quinto in Lionsgate's Margin Call, which won an Independent Spirit Award for Best Ensemble Cast.
Baker and producer Mark Johnson recently acquired Tim Winton's novel Breath to adapt into a feature film which they will co-produce. Baker will also star in the film which follows a pair of teenagers in Western Australia as they look to escape the monotony of life in a small town by taking up surfing lessons from Sando (Baker). He will next be seen in writer/director Dan Mazer's I Give it a Year, alongside Anna Faris and Rose Byrne. CHARITY: Simon is actively involved in the charity Life Rolls On (LRO). LRO is able-bodied individuals. working in concert with those with spinal cord injury, to motivate each other with the inspirational message of achievement in the face of extreme adversity. Life Rolls On utilizes action sports through a flagship program, They Will Surf Again, which pushes the boundary of possibility for those with spinal cord injury (SCI).
