 THE TWINS allowed a season-high 17 runs in this afternoon’s loss to Boston, the most they’ve allowed since August 8, 2015 at Cleveland (17)…allowed a season-high five home runs, the most they’ve allowed in a single game since July 19, 2015 at Oakland (5)…the Twins allowed 10 runs in the top of the ninth inning, the most they’ve allowed in a single inning since allowing 10 in the top of the 4th inning on September 11, 2013 vs. Oakland…the Twins surrendered 11 extra-base hits, the most they’ve allowed in a game May 20, 1998 vs. Detroit (12)…Minnesota dropped its first series since losing two of three to Detroit from April 21-23...Minnesota had won three-straight series (at Texas, at Kansas City and vs. Oakland) entering today…the Twins finished the homestand with a 4-3 record and are 8-6 in their last 14 games.  ERVIN SANTANA allowed a season-high six runs on a season-high five hits in 6.0 innings, suffering his first loss of the season…surrendered as many runs in the first inning this afternoon (3) as he had in his previous 41.0 innings this season…allowed four home runs, matching a career- high (last: May 23, 2013 vs. Los Angeles-AL)…is the first Twins pitcher to allow four homers in a game since Liam Hendriks allowed four on September 24, 2012 vs. New York-AL…Boston’s two-homer inning marked the first time Santana allowed multiple home runs in an inning since July 10, 2015 vs. Detroit…was the first time he allowed multiple homers in a game since June 14, 2016 at Los Angeles-AL (2), a stretch of 24 starts, and the first time he allowed three-plus homers in a game since June 4, 2016 vs. Tampa Bay (3)…allowed six-plus runs for the first time since August 27, 2016 at Toronto (6) and for the first time at Target Field since May 24, 2016 vs. Kansas City.  MATT BELISLE allowed six runs in the top of the ninth inning…had allowed seven earned runs in 12.1 innings entering today’s game…Belisle has allowed nine of his 13 earned runs this season in just two of his 15 games.  TWINS BATTERS recorded three sacrifice flies this afternoon, their most since August 26, 2016 at Toronto (4).  EDDIE ROSARIO (1-for-3) has hit safely in 16 of his last 17 games, hitting .381 (24-for-63) in that span…snapped a career-high 15 game hitting streak yesterday afternoon.

 THE RED SOX scored a season-high 17 runs in this afternoon’s win over Minnesota, the most they’ve scored since scoring 22 August 15, 2015 vs. Seattle…walked a season-high nine times…Boston hit a season-high five home runs…also recorded a season-high 12 extra-base hits, their most since July 4, 2016 vs. Texas (13)…it was the first time Boston hit five-plus homers in a game since July 20, 2016 vs. San Francisco (5)…the Red Sox have hit 19 homers in their last 14 games and have hit at least one home run in a season-high four straight games…Boston hit two home runs in the first inning (Pedroia and Benintendi) this afternoon, the second time the Red Sox have hit multiple homers in an inning this season (also: 2 in the 1st on April 23 at Baltimore)….the Red Sox have homered in 11 straight games vs. Minnesota dating back to June 4, 2015…the Red Sox are now 6-4 in their last 10 games and moved to 6-7 on the road this season…Boston has won four of its last six games at Target Field after going 1-5 in Minnesota before that stretch.  CHRIS SALE allowed a season-high four runs in 6.0 innings with 10 …has allowed four-plus runs in seven of his last 10 starts vs. Minnesota…recorded 10-plus strikeouts for a sixth-straight start, joining Pedro Martinez (2x, 1999 and 2000) as the only other pitcher to do so in Red Sox history…allowed four-plus runs in an inning for the first time since October 2, 2016 vs. Minnesota (4 in the 3rd).  MATT BARNES has allowed a run in four-straight appearances vs. the Twins and a home run in three of his last four (two-walk off home runs).  ANDREW BENINTENDI (2-for-4) homered for the second time in his last three games…entered the three-game series on an 0-for-10 streak at the plate before going 7-for-15 (.467) with a double, two home runs and five RBI in the series…recorded multiple hits in all three games…leads Boston with 11 multi-hit games.  SANDY LEON (2-for-4) recorded his first-career multi-homer game…matched a career-high with four RBI (3x, last: August 5, 2016 at Los Angeles- NL) homered for a second-straight game…it was the second time he’s homered in back-to-back games in his career (also: August 17-18, 2016).  XANDER BOGARTS (2-for-5) extended his hitting streak to 11 games, the longest for any Red Sox player this season.  HANLEY RAMIREZ (1-for-2) matched a career-high with four walks (also: September 2, 2008 vs. Atlanta).  DUSTIN PEDROIA (1-for-5) has hit safely in 17 of his last 18 games at Target Field, hitting .317 (26-for-82), and in 32 of his last 37 games vs. Minnesota, hitting .358 (58-for-162)…has a hit in six straight games and an extra-base hit in four straight…has collected four of his five extra-base hits on the season in that span.  MITCH MORELAND (2-for-5) had a season-high four RBI.  (3-for-6) homered for the first time since April 23 at Baltimore…has homered in three of his last five games vs. Minnesota.
