Minifigs.blog is World's largest LEGO® Minifigures™ collection online run by collector from Poland. Currently there is over 3500 unique LEGO® Minifigures™ in collection, but this number grows. We analyse Minifigure™ prices daily in order to prepare our monthly report. Idea for analytics presented in report came from author's own experience with collecting LEGO® Minifigures™. A lot of effort was put into make this as useful as possible, but if you feel something should be added or changed, please do not hesitate to contact me via e-mail: [email protected]. This report is based on my own research and analysis based on data publicly available on the Internet. Each section has some short introduction but below you can find some terms used across this report: average or median price - in this report most of prices (if not other stated) are calculated as weighted median. In statistics, a weighted median of a sample is the 50% weighted percentile. It was first proposed by F. Y. Edgeworth in 1888. Like the median, it is useful as an estimator of central tendency, robust against outliers. It allows for non-uniform statistical weights related to, e.g., varying precision measurements in the sample. In weighted median number of items sold/offered as given price is used as weight. prices index - this is an author's calculation mechanism, which is similar to stock indexes - taking into account value changes of all available Minifigures™ and Sets or Minifigures™ and Sets in given category. interesting items - must buy soon - items selected using author's calculation mechanism, which chooses items that were popular but availability is getting low. In our opinion, collectors should buy those items soon if considering them as addition to collection. sold price - price for which given item has been sold in the in last 6 months. offered price - price for which given item is currently offered. This is free version of our report. Please visit minifigs.blog website to purchase full version without limits. Below you will Minifigs.blog report for 2020-05-01. Page 4 of 27 Minifigs.blog: Monthly Report 2020-05-01 General analysis In this section you will find a general overview of the LEGO® Minifigures™ market. You can find average (weighted median) prices both - for sold and offered items. Below there is also unique, based on innovative author’s idea index of LEGO® Minifigures™ value. This index is similar to stock indices which can be found over the Internet. Its start value is 100, and it shows percentage changes of given bricks group value. Prices history New LEGO® items (Sets or Minifigures™) prices are set by LEGO®. You can read their explanation to pricing policy in this article. LEGO® secondary market prices change every day. Important thing is to understand that the price of a given LEGO® item does not determine its value. Value can only be estimated based on transactions which took place - so on sold items. Of course each item sold can be in a different state - new, in sealed box or in unopened polybag, it can be used and have usage signs. This affects price and makes it hard to estimate value. We are using a weighted median based on the number of items sold or offered to estimate value. This is the closest we can get to proper value in our opinion. Average sold prices history This section shows charts of average (weighted median) sold prices across the whole Minifigures™ and Sets market. Quotations are daily. Tami Charles, award-winning author of All Because You Matter For the rst 11 years of my life, I was an only child, so stories were all I had to keep me company. Stories gave me the power to envision myself far beyond where I was at the moment. Now I’m in an incredible position to show the power of story to readers.
