Whitecaps’ first designated player, who opened the scoring floodgates with two goals in the premier match at Empire Field. The Frenchman, originally from Sarraguemines, a small town on the German border, left his Swiss club FC Zurich to etch his name in the Whitecaps history. A feat he duly accomplished when he became the first ever Whitecap to score a goal in the MLS. Since that game he's garnered lots of attention for the yellow and red cards he's accumulated. He says he's playing for the fans. We thing he's becoming somewhat of a rock star. Here's what we learned about him.
