THE SONGBOOK

This beautiful and loving tribute concert to a true American treasure features gifted vocalist/entertainers Laurie Clothier and Katherine Strohmaier, accompanied by a live 8-piece jazz band. The concert includes that the legendary Ms. Clooney recorded and performed over her 50-year career, including “Come On-a My House”, “”, “Botcha-Me”, “”, “Mambo Italiano”, “Sisters”, “Love, You Didn’t Do Right By Me”, “”, “Memories Of You”, “You’ll Never Know”, “In The Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening”, “Sophisticated Lady”, “Love Is Here To Stay”, “You Make Me Feel So Young”, “Nice ‘N’ Easy”, “What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life?” and her signature “Tenderly”.

Rising to meteoric stardom in the early 1950’s, Rosemary Clooney’s early career is best remembered for her performance in the holiday classic film “WHITE CHRISTMAS”. She had her own successful television show shortly thereafter, as well as a string of hit recordings. Following a challenging divorce from actor/director Jose Ferrer in the 1960’s, a string of personal challenges and an addiction to prescription sleeping pills, she had a nervous breakdown shortly after the assassination of her good friend Bobby Kennedy and was hospitalized with what we now call bi-polar disorder.

After diligently working to regain control of her life, she rose to the top of the entertainment world again – receiving 4 Grammy nominations for her composer tribute albums, a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award, the ASCAP Pied Piper Award, an Emmy nomination for a guest star role on the TV series ER, and a full schedule of performing dates – including regular appearances at the Rainbow Room at the top of Rockerfeller Center. Ms. Clooney’s inspiring life and musical contributions to American Pop Culture are given full celebration in TENDERLY: The Rosemary Clooney Songbook.

Ms. Clothier and Ms. Strohmaier, both accomplished entertainers in their own right, balance bringing the warmth and magic of an Rosemary Clooney concert to life and sharing stories from her life, leaving the audience with the feeling that they’ve just spent a lovely evening in Ms. Clooney’s home.
