Suspicious Circumstances (Ring 101) immediately

In April this year we received 51 reports from the residents of Royton, Shaw and Crompton of suspicious circumstances.

Officers from Royton and Shaw popped in to wish Les a very happy 90th Birthday. Big smiles all round.

The recent h ot weather has seen a rise in suspicious circumstances and opportunist crimes.

Opportunist criminals have been seen trying car doors, house windows and doors as well as sheds and garages.

DONT MAKE IT EASY FOR THEM

Please make sure:

 Before you leave the house for work you lock your windows and doors

 If you have a window open on a latch, don’t leave valuables within reach

 Do not leave valuables in your vehicle or in view

 Your vehicle is locked at all times especially before you go to bed at night

 If you are sat in the back garden enjoying the sun, make sure your front door is locked

 Ensure your shed/garage is locked, not just with the padlock hung on the hasp

 Don’t leave garden furniture out overnight; this can be used to climb over fences or onto roofs

 Consider investing in crime prevention equipment such as window shock alarms or CCTV, even a dummy CCTV camera is a good deterrent.

If you see anything suspicious or have any information that may help Police, please call 101
