01_INFORMACIÓN GENERAL candidate EUROPEAN CITY OF SPORT 2016 LAS ROZAS candidata a CUIDAD EUROPEA DEL DEPORTE 01_INFORMACIÓN GENERAL As Mayor of Las Rozas de Madrid and on behalf of all the citizens of this town, it is with great satisfaction, pride and excitement that we put forward our town for the European City of Sport 2016. Las Rozas is in the north-west area of the metropolitan area of Madrid, half-way between the Spanish capital and the historical town of San Lorenzo del Escorial, in the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama Mountains. Although the origins of Las Rozas get lost in the fog of the Middle Ages, its growth and development as a residential town and a dynamic business and shopping hub is quite recent, only three decades, which makes us an eminently young, active and well- educated population. Among the towns with over 50,000 inhabitants in Spain, Las Rozas comes irst in terms of percentage of inhabitants with university studies, and is among the top ten towns with highest per capita income. As expected of a town of these sociological characteristics, the demand for quality public and private services and the expectations of welfare and quality of life are tremendously high, and this includes cultural and artistic interests, environmental awareness, healthy life habits, and sport. I believe that it is diicult to ind another town in the Spanish territory with such a high percentage of population devoted to regular exercise. As a matter of fact, nearly 100% of the children in Las Rozas do sport thanks to the extensive and modern network of top quality sports facilities and equipment, either private or state-owned. -

Mayo, 2019 2 Correo de contacto: [email protected] ABSTRACT The debate over Airbnb is increasingly gaining attention both in academic and non- academic spheres. However, in specialized literature almost all analyses have ignored the spatial dependence behind it, that is, when landlord’s decisions to raise or keep prices are related to each other. In the City of Madrid, non-spatial and spatial regressions were compared over individual rental prices. Results suggest that traditional models were biased and, once contemplating these effects, the impact of Airbnb is no longer significant. The causes could be the lower profitability, lack of legal guarantees and a strong competition of professional hosts. As a result, there are less incentives to displace dwellings from the rental market and push rental prices up. Keywords: Airbnb, housing rents, endogeneity, spatial dependence. Table of Contents -

® Project Info JUN 1 01 / 06 / 11 CC5TM Bulk Rolls # 600m2 Vertical and Longitudinal layers Parla, Madrid, Spain TRAGSA on behalf of ADIF CC used to protect a slope adjacent to a rail i line which had been aff ected by burrowing rabbits and erosion Completed installation In June 2018, Concrete Canvas® GCCM* (CC) was used to protect a slope adjacent to a rail line in Parla, Madrid, Spain. The slope, a suburban rail embankment, had been undermined by rabbit burrows and had suff ered weathering erosion. Both issues were compromising the integrity of the slope, and resulted in a requirement for protecting it to prevent slip and further damage. The works were carried out by TRAGSA on behalf of ADIF. In preparation for the installation, all vegetation was removed from the slope section to be lined. Bulk rolls of CC5TM were then delivered to the site and deployed vertically down the slope, starting above a small drainage channel which was created prior to installation to divert rainwater. The bottom edge were captured in an anchor trench and secured using ground pegs, and the top edge then covered with a longitudinal length of CC, overlapping by 100mm and secured using screws. The top edge was then captured in another anchor trench before both were backfi lled to prevent undermining and ingress.
