| If you want to run a 50k, then I have great news! It’s completely possible to finish a 50k using a standard marathon training plan. My very first ultra was a surprise. A year after my first marathon, I was informed by my wife she had registered me for the Belmead Trail Fest’s 50k, which was exactly six days away. After a moment of quiet panic and a resigned acceptance of my Zion 100k; 10min after this I puked. fate, I decided I’d actually attempt to run it. At the time, I was training to run the Richmond Marathon again.
