Epistle Reading irst Letter to the Corinthians 9:2-12

BRETHREN, you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. This is my defense to those who would examine me. Do we not have the right to our food and drink? Do we not have the right to be accompanied by a wife, as the other apostles and the brothers of Greek Orthodox of Greater Salt Lake the Lord and Cephas? Or is it only Barnabas and I who have no St.w Annaww.gocsl cGreek.org; Ort hOrthodoxodoxy3@gmail .Churchcom right to refrain from working for a living? Who serves as a soldier at 3015 E. Creek Road, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84093 his own expense? Who plants a vineyard without eating any of its 385-313-9358 th fruit? Who tends a flock without getting some of the milk? Do I say this on human Sunday August 24 , 2014 th authority? Does not the law say the same? For it is written in the law of Moses, "You 11 Sunday of Matthew shall not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the grain." Is it for oxen that God is concerned? Does he not speak entirely for our sake? It was written for our sake, because the plowman should plow in hope and the thresher thresh in hope of a share in the crop. If we have sown spiritual good among you, is it too much if we reap your material benefits? If others share this rightful claim upon you, do not we still more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than Palm Sunday put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ. Sunday, April 21, 2019

Gospel Reading The Gospel of Matthew 18:23-35 Great and Holy Pascha (Easter Sunday) Sunday, April 28, 2019

The Lord said this parable: "The kingdom of heaven may be Reverend Father Anthony Savas compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his Reverend Father Elias Koucos, Retired Reverend Anatoli Kireiev servants. When he began the reckoning, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents; and as he could not pay, his stannagocutah.org [email protected] lord ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made. So the servant fell on his

knees, imploring him, 'Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.' And out of pity for him the lord of that servant released him and forgave him the debt. But that same servant, as he went out, came upon one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and seizing him by the throat he said, 'Pay what you owe.' So his fellow servant fell down and besought him, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay you.' He refused and went and put him in prison till he If you need to reach , you can reach them at the numbers listed below: should pay the debt. When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were Reverend Father Matthe w Gilbert 801-556-1139 greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their lord all that had taken place. Reverend Father Elias Koucos 801-556-4640 Then his lord summoned him and said to him, 'You wicked servant! I forgave you all Reverend Father George Politis (retired) that debt because you besought me; and should not you have had mercy on your Reverend Dn. Anatoli Kireiev fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?' And in anger his lord delivered him to the jailors, till he should pay all his debt. So also my heavenly Father will do to everyone Holy Cathedral 279 S 300 W SLC, UT 84101 (801) 328-9681 of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart." READINGS AND HYMNS FOR PALM SUNDAY

Epistle Reading: St. Paul's Letter to the Philippians 4:4-9

Prokeimenon. Mode 4. Psalm 117. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Verse: Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy endures forever. Brethren, rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let all men know your forbearance. The Lord is at hand. Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made know to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, do; and the God of peace will be with you. Gospel Reading: The Holy Gospel according to John 12:1-18 Six days before Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazaros was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. There they made him a supper; Martha served, and Lazaros was one of those at table with him. Mary took a pound of costly ointment of pure nard and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment. But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (he who was to betray him), said "Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?" This he said, not that he cared for the poor but because he was a thief, and as he had the money box he used to take what was put into it. Jesus said, "Let her alone, let her keep it for the day of my burial. The poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me." When the great crowd of the Jews learned that he was there, they came, not only on account of Jesus but also to see Lazaros, whom he had raised from the dead. So the chief priests planned to put Lazaros also to death, because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus. The next day a great crowd who had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying, "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!" And Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it; as it is written, "Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey's colt!" His disciples did not understand this at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that this had been written of him and had been done to him. The crowd that had been with him when he called Lazaros out of the tomb and raised him from the dead bore witness. The reason why the crowd went to meet him was that they heard he had done this sign. ST. ANNA CAPITAL CAMPAIGN (SACC) UPDATE

Dear St. Anna Parishioners,

The Capital Campaign Committee wants to thank everyone, as we get closer and closer to meeting our goal of $1.5 million to have the funds necessary to make the down payment on the Atrium property. We on the Capital Campaign committee are asking our "Ambassadors", you, the members of St. Anna's Parish to reach out to the people outside our parish who you may know regarding our wonderful opportunity to have a new home for St. Anna's Parish. Each one of you knows someone who might be able to donate to our campaign. The more Ambassadors we have talking to potential donors and letting their friends and acquaintances know about our Capital Campaign, the sooner we will reach our goal of $1.5 million. If you would like information to be provided to specific individuals or organizations, please get in touch with any member of the Capital Campaign Committee and we will be happy to either provide you with the information to give to the potential donor or will be more than happy to contact the individual or organization on your behalf. The Capital Campaign committee members will be reaching out to parishioners to make sure everyone has had an opportunity to make a donation toward our new church. Every dollar donated or pledged brings us one step closer to taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity given to our parish. Soon we will have the First Annual St. Anna Golf Tournament in May. Please make sure and get your teams and sign up to play. The tournament organizers are creating a wonderful fun filled tournament for everyone to enjoy. This is such a wonderful and excellent time for our parish to have the Atrium become available for our new home.
