Two potential sites for terrestrial land disposal of dredge material are proposed – Northern Sands and East Trinity. Cairns harbour is part of a living Aboriginal cultural landscape. Story places, archaeological sites, contact sites and places of contemporary Aboriginal significance are documented in the broad study area. Non-Indigenous heritage values include shipwrecks, Trinity Wharf complex and local heritage places associated with the development of Cairns.
