Please be informed of the Schools Division Management Committee Meeting to be held on May 13, 2016 (Friday), 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Sta. Cruz Pingkian National High School, Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya. 2. The activities are as follow: Simulation of Brigada Eskwela Caravan (see Enclosure 1) Actual Maintenance / Cleaning Works (see Enclosure 2) Senior HS Village and K to 10 Village General Orientation of the 147 would-be SHS teacher-appointees Assembly: Basketball Court (right after the Hanging Bridge) 3. Participants to this ManCom will be the PSDS/DICs, Elementary and Secondary School Heads/TICs including the 147 would-be SHS teacher-appointees. These participants are advised to join the BE Caravan Simulation Activity to start promptly at 5:00 am to the place of convergence (see Enclosure 1). 4. The registration fee is P 500.00 to cover meals/snacks (P150) and BE Advocacy T-shirt (P280) and Actual BE financial assistance (P70). 5. All participants are advised to come in their working clothes and bring cleaning materials. 6. Cruz-Pingkian NHS The caravan is a progressive or snowball type. The first group, CO with DepEd Secretary, shall depart from Highlander Hotel, Solano at 5:00 am and shall pass on convergence points where other participants shall follow the tail until the caravan reaches the final destination, Sta. Participants are expected to be in their designated convergence points 30 minutes before ETD. 2. Participating vehicles MUST place their stickers with the corresponding numbers on their windshields without obstructing the driver’s peripheral vision. 3. Parked or moving, vehicles MUST follow at all times the cue of vehicles as indicated in their assigned numbers. NO overtaking at all times. 4. Vehicles joining the caravan shall put on their park lights, or headlights, or hazard lights while on the move from convergence points to final destination to properly warn other vehicles plying the same route either with the flow or on the opposite lane. All vehicles MUST follow instructions from PNP Officers escorting the caravan, Marshalls and Focal Persons from DepEd, and parking attendants (Bantay Bayan & other volunteer groups) 6. Kayapa Districts will not join the caravan having to wait in the final venue. 7. Parking at Sta-Cruz-Pingkian shall be in single file still following the numbering of vehicles. 8. Report No. 3 – Population, Land Area, and Population Density is among the series of publications that present the results of the POPCEN 2015. This publication provides information on the population size, land area, and population density by region, province, highly urbanized city, and city/municipality based on the data from population census conducted by the PSA in the years 2000, 2010, and 2015; and data on land area by city/municipality as of December 2013 that was provided by the Land Management Bureau (LMB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Also presented in this report is the percent change in the population density over the three census years. The population density shows the relationship of the population to the size of land where the population resides.

Between 200 B.C. and 300 A.D., colonizing expeditions of Indo-Malay peoples, the forefathers of the founders of Cauayan, arrived along the northern coast of Luzon. The Gaddang people were one of the many Indo-Malay tribes. They found the Cagayan River watershed sparsely occupied by long-established Aeta, while the hills were already populated by the more-recently arrived Igorot (thought to originate from Taiwan as late as 500 B.C.). The Indo-Malay colonists practiced swidden (slash-and-burn based shifting cultivation) farming, and developed successful littoral and riparian societies as well; all economies which demand low population density. Whenever there were population increases following economic success or continued in-migration, the Indo-Malays were forced to move. Over many generations they spread inland along the Cagayan River and its tributaries. As Gaddangs occupy lands further away from the mouth of the river than most Indo-Malay groups, they may be considered likely to have been among the earliest to arrive.

Magat watershed was declared as a forest-reservation area through Proclamation No. 573 on June 26, 1969 because of its great importance to human survival and environmental balance in the region. The Magat case demonstrates the important role that ‘champions’ like the local government unit (LGU) could play in managing the country’s watersheds. With the Nueva Viscaya province constituting 97% of the Magat watershed, the provincial government was committed to provide a strong management support system to the watershed.
