London Sinfonietta is proud to be part of the New Music: New Audiences (New:Aud)

London Sinfonietta are delighted to announce their involvement in New Music: New Audiences (New:Aud), a co-operative European project which runs from October 2012 to September 2014 and is initiated by a network of music organisations throughout Europe.

Along with PRS for Music Foundation, the Hebrides Ensemble, Psappha and London Contemporary , the London Sinfonietta will represent the United Kingdom in this project which will examine and experiment with tomorrow’s concert forms and methods to reach out to audiences.

The objective is to initiate dialogue with a new audience while gathering knowledge about audience development for future use. As one aspect of the cooperative effort, the participating ensembles will present concerts where new communication forms are going to be tested out and examined.

An introductory conference for all participants takes place October 24-25 in Bruxelles. After this, a number of working communities among the ensembles will be set up to assist each other in the preparation of live concerts throughout spring and summer 2013. In October 2013, a mid-term conference will be held, after which another series of working communities will be formed to assist with further concerts. The project will be rounded off with a conference, held in August 2014
