VACCINE DISTRIBUTION STATISTICS Updated here.

COVID-19 VACCINE ELIGIBILITY IN MICHIGAN EXPANDS TODAY Starting today, Mon., March 8, the State of Michigan expanded eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine to include the following groups: · Caregivers and guardians (age 16 and older) of children with special health care need: We are developing a process to connect these caregivers and guardians to vaccination opportunities at Michigan Medicine. We will provide more information soon regarding the process. · Patients age 50 and older living with a disability or with COPD, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, disease, , obesity or other conditions that put them at high risk of negative COVID-19 outcomes.

Beginning Monday, March 22, all patients age 50 and older will also be eligible for vaccination, as supply allows.

At this time, vaccine supply throughout much of Michigan remains very limited. Many patients age 65 and older are still in the process of being vaccinated, and we are unable to provide an estimate regarding how long it may take for individuals in the newly eligible groups to receive a Michigan Medicine vaccine invitation. We will continue to provide updates to our community as we learn new information. Updates will also be available on the Michigan Medicine vaccine hub website.

UPDATED CDC TRAVEL GUIDANCE The CDC has updated its travel guidance to include testing and quarantine recommendations for both domestic and international travel.

Domestic travelers should get tested no more than three days prior to travel and again within 72 hours after travel. A seven day quarantine following domestic travel is encouraged but is not required for University of Michigan faculty, staff, and learners.

International air travelers must follow CDC testing requirements related to air travel. Per University of Michigan policy, all faculty, staff, and learners must get tested within 72 hours after returning from international travel and stay home for seven days. Vaccinated workforce members are not required to quarantine following international travel if they meet all of the following criteria (testing is still recommended): · Are fully vaccinated (i.e., ≥2 weeks following receipt of last dose in COVID-19 vaccine series) · Are within three months following receipt of last dose COVID-19 vaccine series · Have remained asymptomatic Returning travelers may contact the Occupational Health Services (OHS) COVID-19 hotline for guidance. OHS can be reached at (734) 764-8021, seven days per week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that OHS does not offer testing for personal travel.
