In addition to animal interactions, outdoor games, and making crafts, campers enjoy a day of swimming at Narrow River supervised by a certified lifeguard and a fun-filled hike to to explore the shoreline. Each week features unique activities, games, and crafts.

Little Ducklings costs $65 for Historic members valid through July 31, 2020; $95 nonmembers. Farm Friends, Growing Together, and Farm Explorers cost $230 for members valid through July 31, 2020; and $295 for nonmembers (includes household membership). A $20 discount applies for CSA members or a second child or second week.

»Little Ducklings—Ages 4 – 5 Introduce your little ones to Casey Farm and the camp experience with Little Ducklings, perfect for children ready to explore on their own, but not ready for a full week or daylong camp. For three mornings a week, campers meet and interact with our farm animals, sing songs, listen to stories, play games, and make crafts. Casey Farm is a perfect location for a young child’s first teacher-guided camp experience.

»Summer Fun Days These one-day programs engage your child in fun farm activities highlighting the history and science of farming and farm life. Each program is run by experienced camp counselors in small group settings. Children visit with the farm animals and help feed and care for them as well as pick fresh vegetables for a snack. Each program is limited to twenty children and costs $45 for Historic New England members; $55 for nonmembers.

4 » Camp Casey Summer Program »Casey Carnival June 26, 9 AM – 3 PM Campers enjoy carnival games with farm flair—some historic, some serious, some silly. Children start off the day making a carnival banner, then head out to play Nine Pins, Quoits, Boot Toss, Ring Toss, Electric Lawn Darts, and group games like Egg Drop and Track Match. The afternoon features Casey Carnival games starting with Toilet Paper Roll Toss, Frog Jump, Feed the Pigs, Toss the Pickle, Football Toss, Pick a Nail, Fishbowl game, Chuck a Duck, and Casey Says. Campers should wear sneakers and bring lots of energy. Ages 5 – 12 »Nature-Inspired T-shirts (T-shirt Triology) June 26, 9 AM – 3 PM Did you say Tie-Dye? Yes, nature has always inspired all kinds of art mediums, and this daylong camp will capture nature’s beauty by making three amazing T-shirts. Campers will make a tie-dye T-shirt using organic dyes from the Casey Farm gardens. The beautiful colors from onions, beets, and berries, to name just a few, will create a one-of-a kind T-shirt. To inspire our creativity for the second T-shirt, we will hike in the woods to gather leaves, ferns, and wildflowers to make beautiful prints. We’ll draw inspiration for the third T-shirt from Narragansett Bay: Campers will make T-shirts using fish prints and shell- inspired designs. This camp brings together art and nature in a fun, educational, and creative way. Campers will need to bring three new or used white T-shirts. Ages 7 – 12 »Waddling Ducks July 9, 9 AM – 2 PM Spend a day with your child learning all about our Pekin ducks. Campers will feed and water our ducks, give them a cooling spray, feel duck and chicken feathers, hold a duck egg, hear duck stories, make a duck craft to take home, and play Hide “Quacky” the Duck, Duck Duck Goose, and the carnival games Ring the Duck and Toss the Duck. Ages 3 – 6* »Little Pigs July 16, 9 AM – 2 PM Come to the farm and visit our two little pigs. Spend a day with your child learning all about pigs. Campers hand pick fresh veggies to feed the pigs and use brushes and water to give our pigs a bath, listen to pig stories, complete pig crafts, play Hide the Pig and the carnival games Feed The Pigs and Pin the Tail on the Pig, and explore the farm to find the pigs’ favorite snack foods. Campers enjoy a day on the farm, reading tractor stories, playing hide the tractor, making tractor crafts, and riding on a small pedal tractor. Parents, bring your cameras to capture the special moment at the end of the day when our experienced staff safely allows your child to sit on a real tractor and pretend to drive. Let your camper draw inspiration from the outdoor world to create masterpieces using nature as their medium. Casey Farm lets children return to their artistic roots as they create art on rocks, make leaf rubbings and nature prints, assemble their own dream catchers from natural materials, design eggshell mosaics, craft nature walk bracelets, and play games in between crafts. We let nature take the lead on this day of creative and imaginative fun. Ages 6 –12 »Wild Water Adventure August 18, 9 AM – 3 PM Young ecologists discover the mysteries of two distinct southern New England wetlands: a wild cranberry bog and a man-made pond. Campers catch, observe, and identify a variety of wild creatures and plants, while exploring the world just below the surface. Then campers will enjoy a hayride down to the Narrow River for a supervised swim time at the waterfront. 9 »Pollination Station: Monarch Migration August 27, 9 AM – 3 PM Sprout your insect wings and become a citizen scientist! We will learn about many pollinators but will focus the day on exploring the wonders of the Monarch Butterfly, from its magical metamorphosis inside a chrysalises to its multigenerational migration from Rhode Island to Mexico and back! We will explore the amazing wild pollinator habitat that thrives on the farm and participate in activities that will inspire curiosity and appreciation for the fields and woodlands around us. Campers will learn the importance of plant and tree pollination through crafts and games and nature observation.
