Erythrina variegata, also known as coral tree, tiger’s claw, Japanese coral tree, Indian coral tree, and wiliwili-haole, is noted for its seasonal showy red flowers and variegated leaves. It is an ornamental landscape tree widely planted in the southern part of the state. Erythrina is a large genus with approximately 110 different species worldwide. In addition to Erythrina variegata, the erythrina gall wasp has been collected on E. crista-galli L., E. sandwicensis Deg., and E. stricta Roxb. It is uncertain at this time how many species of Erythrina the erythrina gall wasp may attack in Florida. DISTRIBUTION: The erythrina gall wasp is believed to have originated in Africa, but this remains uncertain. It was described (Kim et al 2004) from specimens from Singapore, Mauritius, and Reunion. In the past two years, it has spread to China, India, Taiwan, Philippines, and Hawaii (Heu et al 2006; Schmaedick et al 2006; ISSG 2006). -

INTRODUCTION The Mymaridae (fairy wasps) are a family of chalcid wasps found in temperate and tropical regions throughout the world. It includes the most primitive members of the chalcid wasp and contains around 100 genera with about 1400 species (Noyes, 2005). Fairyflies are very tiny insects and include the world's smallest known insects. They generally range from 0.5 to 1.0 mm long. Adult mymarids are rather fragile, the body generally being slender and the wings narrow with an elongate marginal fringe. Their delicate bodies and their hair-fringed wings have earned them their common name. Very little is known of the life histories of fairyflies, as only a few species have been observed extensively. -

The specimens were collected from tomato fields and greenhouses in Ahwaz, Khouzestan province (south west of Iran). Both species are new records for fauna of Iran. The knowledge about these parasitoids is still scanty. The potential of these parasitoids for biological control of T. absoluta in tomato fields and greenhouses should be investigated. (Coleoptera: Curculionidae). Duration of devel- opment from egg to adult decreased from 39.99 ± 0.27 days to 13.57 ± 0.07 days (mean ± SE) as temperature increased from 20 to 33 °C, respectively. No development was observed at 5–15 °C. Fecundity was highest at 25 and 30 °C (70–73 eggs per female) but was reduced at 33 °C (21.5 eggs per female). Oviposition rate was also reduced at 33 °C. Q. haitiensis accepted host eggs from 0 to 7 days old for oviposition but was most prolific when parasitizing 1- to 4-day-old eggs. Very few adult Q. haitiensis emerged from host eggs that were 5–7 days old, however, D. abbreviatus egg mortality was similar for eggs 0–7 days old. -

A list of the species from Iran belonging to the subfamilies Eulophinae, Entedoninae and Tetrastichinae is presented. In the present work 47 species from 22 genera are recorded from Iran. Two species (Cirrospilus scapus sp. nov. and Aprostocetus persicus sp. nov.) are described as new. A list of 45 host-parasitoid associations in Iran and keys to Iranian species of three genera (Cirrospilus, Diglyphus and Aprostocetus) are included. Zusammenfassung Dieser Artikel zeigt den derzeitigen Untersuchungsstand an eulophiden Wespen und ihrer Wirte im Iran. Eine Liste der für den Iran festgestellten Arten der Unterfamilien Eu- lophinae, Entedoninae und Tetrastichinae wird präsentiert. Mit vorliegender Arbeit werden 47 Arten in 22 Gattungen aus dem Iran nachgewiesen. Zwei neue Arten (Cirrospilus sca- pus sp. nov. und Aprostocetus persicus sp. nov.) werden beschrieben. Eine Liste von 45 Wirts- und Parasitoid-Beziehungen im Iran und ein Schlüssel für 3 Gattungen (Cirro- spilus, Diglyphus und Aprostocetus) sind in der Arbeit enthalten. -
The Entomofauna on Eucalyptus in Israel: a Review

Eucalyptus, Israel, invasive species, native species, insect pests, natural enemies Abstract. The fi rst successful Eucalyptus stands were planted in Israel in 1884. This tree genus, particularly E. camaldulensis, now covers approximately 11,000 ha and constitutes nearly 4% of all planted ornamental trees. Here we review and discuss the information available about indigenous and invasive species of insects that develop on Eucalyptus trees in Israel and the natural enemies of specifi c exotic insects of this tree. Sixty-two phytophagous species are recorded on this tree of which approximately 60% are indigenous. The largest group are the sap feeders, including both indigenous and invasive species, which are mostly found on irrigated trees, or in wetlands. The second largest group are wood feeders, polyphagous Coleoptera that form the dominant native group, developing in dying or dead wood. Most of the seventeen parasitoids associated with the ten invasive Eucalyptus-specifi c species were introduced as biocontrol agents in classical biological control projects. None of the polyphagous species recorded on Eucalyptus pose any threat to this tree. The most noxious invasive specifi c pests, the gall wasps (Eulophidae) and bronze bug (Thaumastocoris peregrinus), are well controlled by introduced parasitoids. -

Introduction Fairyflies (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Mymaridae) are internal egg parasitoids of insects except two species that parasitize the larvae of eulophids (Huber et al. 2006). From India, 31 genera and 134 species of Mymaridae have been reported so far (Manickavasagam and Rameshkumar 2013, Ramesh Kumar et al. 2013). The mymarid fauna of India is not well documented as several states and biodiversity rich areas of India have not been surveyed so far for mymarids. -
