It has become one of the basic necessities of human life, like food, clothing and shelter. Contemporary issues in Education refer to the various events, policies and developments of an educational nature which exist in the modern scenario. Most of these are influenced by the changes and initiatives caused by modern trends and innovations in education. India is a developing country, shows that children do not master basic literacy and are not able to complete their school education. On the other side, India has 22 percent of the world’s population. It hampers the development of human resource, making education stand at the cross roads. Education is the way that can change & satisfy our society as well as its progress. There for hope this “National Seminar on Contemporary Issues in Indian Education” will be able to exercise some lights of the present education scenario. PURPOSE OF THE SEMINAR Therefore, the seminar is aimed to invite resource persons, experts, teachers, administrators and research scholars to exchange their ideas, experiences and suggestions about contemporary issues in education. It will build on the existing body of work on education but its aim is explore and develop new perspectives in this field and deepen understanding of the impact of contemporary issues in education, encourage disciplinary dialogues, compare theoretical understandings and open the area to multiple method of research enquiry. The another aim of the seminar is to create an attractive forum for presenting the scientific findings and to promote exchange of ideas, views and experiences amongst young researchers, professionals in the various fields of research activities and use the seminar to develop links between academics and stakeholders in the library, community and educational sectors. Educational Management & Educational Organisatios HRINGHATA Haringhata is a small town in Kalyani subdivision of Nadia District, State of West Bengal. It is located at 22.95°N and 88.57°E. It has an average elevation of 10 metres (33 feets). The average temperature during the seminar will be 27°C - 29°C. HARINGHATA MAHAVIDYALAYA Haringhata Mahavidyalaya is an affiliated to University of Kalyani, Kalyani, Nadia, Grant-in-Aid College, Government of West Bengal, got Grade ‘B’ accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), University Grant Commission of India in 2006. The college started its journey in September, 1986. Now it is one of the big and prestigious learning centers in the Eastern India. HOW TO REACH Haringhata Mahavidyalaya is 11 km away from Kanchrapara Railway Station and takes 45 minutes by bus (Bus no 22). The College covers 03 kilometers from Barajaguli. As the College is situated beside the National High Way NH-34 various regular transport services (like express bus, local bus, auto rickshaw etc.) are available and take only 10 minutes to cover this distance. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION The Department of Education of Haringhata Mahavidyalaya began its journey on and from 1th July, 2004 and its classes were started on and from 4th July, 2004 with two Departmental teachers along with a total no of twenty eight Honours students including boys and girls. Nowadays the faculty members are four with eighty four honours students and five hundred fifty one general students. Well-equipped computer, audio visual teaching learning methods, departmental library and smart classes now are its special dimension. There will be no spot registration on the days (28th & 29th September, 2016) of the seminar. Accompanying persons will be entertained only in case of utmost necessity. The registration fee for Regular delegates, teachers/scientists and Students includes Participation, Seminar kits, Abstract volume, Accommodation, Food and, Conveyance during the Seminar. All the delegates to the seminar have to register themselves before 25st September 2016. The registration forms and the abstracts with full paper should be sent to the Convener of the Seminar. If necessary, photocopies of the registration form may be used. All correspondence related to registration should be addressed to the Convener of the Seminar.
