• PLMXML and AP242XML are XML-based structure data format used for storing structure and product information required by the PDM or CAD systems, e.g. for DMU or kinematic applications.
• PLMXML/AP242XML format is used in combination with JT files for exchange of structure information
• JT translator is capable of producing a PLMXML (*.plmxml) or AP242XML (*.stpx) file with assembly structure
• JT file holds 3D geometry, PMIs, attributes etc. and PLMXML/AP242XML assembly holds references to the JT files and metadata
• Teamcenter Visualization is capable of reading PLMXML file with assembly structure and display the assembly configuration
• Useful in supplier collaboration workflow where the data is sent to the supplier as JTs for parts that contains 3D geometry, PMIs, attributes etc. and a container in the form of PLMXML or AP242XML that holds the complete assembly structure and references to the JT files. Required Settings in JT Configuration file: Note: - o structureOption = "MULTICAD” - Currently the capability is supported only with command line application ‘ugtopv’ o writeWhichFiles = "JTPARTS,PLMXML“ or - PLMXML or AP242XML file with assembly structure is produced only when JT o writeWhichFiles = "JTPARTS,AP242XML“ files are exported on to disk.
