Middlesbrough is an industrial town in North East situated along the North Sea coast on the in the county of North . Around 142,000 people live in Middlesbrough. Middlesbrough is close to the Moors and the Yorkshire Dales National Parks and the Yorkshire coast. The Lake district is less than 2 hours away and Leeds Bradford and Newcastle international airports are within an hour's drive.

The corporation of academic hospitals, by far the the largest in the region, consists of multiple centres, including a university hospital. Basic and specialist tertiary services are provided to a population of approximately 1.5 million. The university hospital performs the role of Major Trauma Centre for the entire population. In addition, it also houses the Regional Spiral Injuries Unit that provides service for the north of England and a population of 3.4 million. The Haematology department offers clinical care to a population of 480.000 people and tertiary care to more than one million people. The entire haematology spectrum is treated here. The department has access to modern equipment and a laboratory. Due to the academic nature of the hospital, the department is involved in both education and research.

Job Description:

On behalf of this hospital in the United Kingdom we are looking for a haematologist for a full-time, position for a minimum of one year. The position is also available for newly qualified haematologists, registrars who are within 6 months of graduation can also respond.

The successful candidate will strengthen a team consisting of 12 other specialists, 3 registrars and specialized nurses. In addition, you will work in an academic hospital, but some shifts can take place in another, nearby hospital. Part of the tasks will consist of teaching medical students, interns and registrars. Involvement with the research performed in the department is encouraged.

For this position you must have broad haematological experience and skills. Candidates with a sub- specialty are preferred. If you do not have a sub-specialty, the employer offers the opportunity to develop one.
