TEAM NOTES • Texas improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the with the win. The Longhons are 3-1 for the first time since 2012. • Saturday’s win marks the first time UT has beaten Top 25 teams in consecutive weeks since 2008. • UT is now 18-5 (.783) in Big 12 opening games all-time and 15-8 (.652) in its first Big 12 home game. • The Longhorns have won three straight games for the first time since the 2014 season. • Texas is now 901-367-33 (.705) all-time in program history. • The Longhorns are 63-25-1 all-time against TCU, including a mark of 34-14-1 in Austin. It is their first win over TCU since 2013 and first in Austin since 2007. • The Longhorns’ defense forced four turnovers in Saturday’s game. It was the most this season and tied for the most in the Tom Herman era (twice in 2017). • Collin Johnson’s 100-yard receiving performance marked the second straight season, and seventh time in school history, that a Longhorn receiver has eclipsed the century mark against TCU. • Texas has now outscored opponents 48-10 after the first quarter in the last two weeks. INDIVIDUAL NOTES QB • Was 22-of-32 for 255 yards and 2 touchdowns. Now has 2,893 career passing yards, surpassing his high school coach Todd Dodge’s career passing mark for 15th all-time in school history. • First Longhorn QB since Colt McCoy in 2008 with at least two passing TDs and one rushing TD in three consecutive games. • Has now passed for 200+ yards 10 times in his career, moving him into a tie for 9th all-time with David Ash (2011-14). WR Collin Johnson • Finished with 7 catches for 124 yards and a touchdown. It was his third career 100-yard game. His seven receptions are tied for the most of his career (fifth time). • He also surpassed 100 career receptions in the game and now has 102 catches in his career. WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey • Scored on a 38-yard touchdown reception in the 4th-quarter. This marks three straight games with a receiving touchdown, tied for seventh-most all-time. DB Caden Sterns • Had two interceptions in the game and now has three on the season through four games. • Quandre Diggs (2011) and Chris Carter (1993) are the only two freshmen in school history with more interceptions in a single season. DB Brandon Jones • Finished with an interception and and a fumble recovery to go along with 10 tackles. DB Chris Brown • Made his first career start in the game.
