The Cave de Turckheim is a leading name in Alsace and beyond, renowned for its exemplary winegrowing practices and reputed throughout the world for its prestigious collection of wines crafted by the master oenologist Michel Lihrmann. Created in 1955 by a group of far-sighted winegrowers from the village of Turckheim and its neighbouring communes, the Cave Coopérative de Turckheim currently has 250 members and represents a vineyard area that extends across the municipality of Turckheim and beyond, encompassing , , and the villages of the Val Saint-Grégoire, namely , Walbach and Wihr-au Val. To create wines worthy of the 'Haute Couture' label, the Cave Coopérative de Turckheim is constantly innovating, both in the vineyards and in the winery. Over the last fifteen years, the partner-winegrowers have worked closely with the in-house technical team to incorporate the latest advances in research into their vineyard cultivation techniques, ensuring high quality grape produc- tion combined with respect for the environment. In the winery, the state of the art fermentation room and bottling plant ensure that the wines are produced to the very highest of standards at every stage in the production process.

Turckheim is situated in the Fecht valley, downstream from Munster, in the vicinity of , the capital of the Haut-Rhin. The village is administratively part of the and the district of Colmar. A key stop-off along the Route, Turckheim is an attractive tourist destination, and is also one of the fifteen stages on the Green Route, a tourist trail that connects the Black Forest, Alsace and Vosges, taking in the best in local gastronomy, culture and sites of natural beauty.

Due to the geological complexity of the region, Turckheim has a surprising variety of soils and a number of prestigious 'lieux dit' named vineyards, such as the Herrenweg (meaning The Lord's Way) plot on the Alsace Plain, consisting of pebbles and sand, and the Heimburg hillside plot, whose soils are predominantly clay and limestone. The grapes from these vineyard plots are vinified separately, forming a unique range of Alsatian terroir wines. This unusual geological diversity enables the Cave de Turckheim to offer a wide range of highly differentiated wines, each with a distinctive personality. The experience of tasting each of these singular wines is the key to obtaining a better understanding of the remarkable diversity of this vineyard area. The new 'Cousu-Main' cuvée is the result of an unusual marriage of fashion and wine. Combining their talents, our in-house oenologist and the fashion designer William Arlotti have created a work of elegance, finesse and origi- nality, offering sparkling wine-lovers an effervescent 'haute couture' Crémant d’Alsace. The result is an outstanding success, its fine bubbles enhancing the blend of Pinot Blanc (50%) and Pinot Gris (50%) grapes grown in vineyards with gravel and granite soils. These terroirs bring their distinctive identity to the wine, offering a harmonious blend of elegance and minerality.

The result is a wine brimming with style and bubbling with chic, sensual and elegant aromas. Pale golden in appearance with green flecks glistening through the bubbles, the vivacious effervescence of this ebullient cremant reveals a fresh and delicate nose of white flowers, ripe peaches and pears, with hints of toasted almond and citrus fruits. The delicate flavours follow through on the palate in a harmonious, fresh and slightly mineral finish, exquisitely evoking the final lingering figure of a catwalk show dallying with panache. A ‘HAUTE COUTURE’ BOTTLE

The traditional women’s costume of Alsace consists of a red petticoat, a white blouse with a black corseted vest and a large black headdress in the form of an oversized bow. William Arlotti has chosen to shake up tradition, reversing the colour codes to create a more contemporary look. His little black dress is the epitome of Parisian chic, while his offbeat take on the headdress completes the look with an original Alsatian twist.

“When the Cave de Turckheim asked me to design a limited edition bottle for their new cremant, with new editions to be released and collected over the seasons, my thoughts immediately turned to the women of Alsace, their cheerful disposition, their rather chic appearance, and their mischievous, mysterious ways. Alsatian women are naturally reserved, but hiding be- hind their dark, round glasses lies a sensual gaze capable of transforming day into night” - William Arlotti

William Arlotti drew inspiration for his design from period imagery; old black and white postcards from Alsace and the floral motifs of wallpapers and fabric prints dating from bygone eras.

In Arlotti’s bottle-sleeve design, necklaces and shoes float through the air. Strings of pearls sparkle like bubbles, while hints of lipstick offer the promise of a sweet kiss... Combining innovative visual design with the traditional shapes and colours of Alsace, the originality of the design echoes the creative talent of the Cave de Turckheim oenologists. The result was named 'Cousu-Main'* in homage to this formidable duet.

The natural surroundings of Turckheim, and the village itself, with its narrow streets, half- timbered houses and window boxes overflowing with geraniums, were the sources of inspira- tion. William Arlotti imagined this female figure of Alsatian tradition turning the corner of a narrow street, treading a path through the vineyards, emerging exalted from a field of poppies, at the hour of a flaming red sunset...

Working with the studio Sleever International, the bottle-sleeve was enhanced with matt, pearly, powdery, mirror and relief varnishes, highlighting the originality of the design.
