STALLION SYNOPSIS FOR: NOT THIS TIME PREPARED BY: ALAN PORTER PREPARED FOR: TAYLOR MADE STALLIONS INC Pedigree Consultants are able to help you in all facets of your thoroughbred investment. Not only are we able to proven mating advice but we are also able to advise on mare selection, management and promotion of stallions, and selection and purchase of racing and breeding stock. For more information on the services visit www.pedigreeconsultants.com, email [email protected] or call +1 859 285 0431. NOT THIS TIME The most brilliant two-year-old son of sire of sires, Giant’s Causeway, Not This Time was also arguably the fastest and most spectacular two-year-old of his crop. In addition to being by Storm Cat’s leading sire son, he is out of record-breaking graded and multiple stakes winning Miss Macy Sue – also dam of brilliant Breeders’ Cup Mile (gr. I) victor Liam’s Map – and descends from Ta Wee, a two-time Champion Sprinter who is half-sister to the legendary Dr. Fager. Giant’s Causeway has demonstrated an affinity for the Fappiano branch of Mr. Prospector, and Fappiano is particularly interesting here, as he is out of a mare by Dr. Fager, which should work extremely well with remarkable strong Tartan Farm/Genter heritage in the dam of Not This Time (which includes inbreeding to Dr. Fager’s brilliant half-sister, Ta Wee). We can note that Unbridled’s Song – a grandson of Fappiano – is the sire of Not This Time’s brilliant half-brother Liam’s Map.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2021 MANDALOUN TURNS THE CLAIRIERE A FITTING WINNER OF THE RACHEL ALEXANDRA TABLES IN RISEN STAR Hall of Famer Rachel Alexandra carried the famed burgundy and gold silks of Stonestreet Farm to six victories, four of which were Grade Is, including the GI Preakness S. and GI Woodward S. So, it was only fitting that another filly carrying the colors of Barbara Banke's operation, Clairiere (Curlin), won that Horse of the Year's namesake Grade II race at the Fair Grounds Saturday. The event, which produced GI Kentucky Oaks winners in 2018 and 2019, offered 50 points towards this year's run for the lillies. Clairiere rallied strongly from well back to capture her 1 1/16-mile debut at Churchill Downs Oct. 25. She made another late run for the lead in that venue's GII Golden Rod S. Nov. 28, but was collared by the re-opposing Travel Column (Frosted) and forced to settled for second. I) and Gulfstream Park Handicap (gr. I). Mshawish is a son of Medaglia d’Oro, who is one of the world’s most important sires, and who has also achieved the unique feat of siring Champion Two-Year-Olds in the U.S., Europe and Australia. On the distaff side Mshawish comes from the immediate family of Champion U.S. Two-Year-Old Filly Halfbridled.” Mshawish is a product of the hugely successful cross of Medaglia d’Oro and his sons over Mr. Prospector line mares, one that has produced no less than 29 stakes winners. The dam of Mshawish is inbred to Mr. Prospector, but these crosses will be in the fifth and sixth generation of his foals, and we can also note that there are already more than 30 grade one winners who carrying three cross of Mr. Prospector, so reintroducing this strain should not cause concern.

IRISH SURF A track-record breaking graded stakes winner, Irish Surf is by three-time Leading Sire, Giant’s Causeway. The outstanding son of Storm Cat, both as a racehorse and sire, Giant’s Causeway is now a major sire of sires, with eight of his sons having sired grade one winners. Irish Surf’s dam, Champion Three-Year-Old Filly Surfside, is by Seattle Slew out of Champion Two-Year- Old Filly Flanders, and is three-quarters sister to grade one sire Flanders Fields. The cross of Giant's Causeway and sons with Mr. Prospector line mares has been a tremendously successful one, with more than 150 stakes winners. Irish Surf’s second dam is a Champion by Mr. Prospector son, Seeking the Gold, and as Giant’s Causeway sired Champion Two-year-old Filly Take Charge Brandi out of a mare by Seeking the Gold, duplicating that strain is worth considering. Sources of Seeking the Gold that particularly appeal are Mutakddim and Cape Town (both reverse crosses to Surfside). There are seven stakes winners, two grade one, by Giant’s Causeway out mares by Kingmambo, and there are also four stakes winners, one grade one out of mares by Kingmambo son, Lemon Drop Kid, a reverse cross to Surfside.
