DESCRIPTION

Located just moments from everything that St Ives has to offer and with views over the world famous Porthmeor surfing beach, Godrevy House Building plot offers the opportunity to build what will become an iconic piece of the St Ives skyline immediately adjacent to the Tate, St Ives art gallery. The planning permission is for a house of truly world class design set over three floors to maximise the elevated position of the plot and its views.

The current planning permission under reference: PA14/00550 is for an approximately 5,000sq.ft. five en-suite bedroomed house with indoor swimming pool and cinema. It is of course possible to re-approach the Council Planning Department to ask for permission to build something more modest or alternatively more than one unit of accommodation.

The site is amazingly only yards from the beach and a footpath leads from the end of Godrevy Terrace straight into the heart of the town with its thriving restaurants, art galleries and specialist shops arranged around the harbour front and nearby streets. From this quite unique position within St Ives it is a simple a short walk past Porthmeor Beach to reach stunning coastal walks along the meaning that both the buzz of the town and the quiet and isolation of the countryside and coastline are both near at hand. 3 Ref: LCAA6696

St Ives is incredibly picturesque with fishermen’s cottages nudging the shoreline, little cobbled streets meandering around the centre, startling blue sea and perfect golden sand. The village has a bustling and cosmopolitan atmosphere where the restaurants serve fresh fish landed in the harbour. There are cafés, art galleries and studios everywhere with the Tate, St Ives forming the focal point of this art loving community.

St Ives enjoys a mild climate where winter frosts are rare, the air is exceptionally clean coming in off the Atlantic Ocean and the clarity of light is considered the best in Britain. The area is also known for surfing with Porthmeor being the main surf beach although Porthminster and the other beaches around the four mile wide mean that no matter what the swell and wind direction there is always a wave to be found. St Ives has its own branch railway terminus which links to the main to Paddington line giving simple access throughout Cornwall and to London.

In recent years St Ives has seen strong property value growth with terraced houses and even those without views commanding seven figure sums. Once built Godrevy House will become one of the most desirable houses in the town due to its location and there is therefore unlikely to be another opportunity like this again.
