BY TAMMY A. GANTT ______The Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ & Owners’ Association recently graduated two col - lege interns, Zoe Bowden and Bailey Nicole Murphy. Zoe Bowden, a student at the University of Florida and captain of the school’s dressage team, held a long-term internship from January through August. Bowden whose interest is in video production was instrumental in shooting, scripting and producing a video for the Florida Thoroughbred Retirement farm and program. The video debuted at the FTBOA’s Horse of the Year Gala in March. Bowden also worked onstage assisting with trophy presentations during the event and worked to gather silent auction items before the event. Horse Capital Television was launched in April which gave Bowden the opportunity to shoot footage and produce some of the segments. She also shot footage in partnership with EQTV Network at the Florida Thoroughbred Transformational Expo at the Florida Horse Park in April. The interns were appreciative of the many farms that opened their doors including Double Diamond, Kinsman, Live Oak Stud, GoldMark and OBS among others. The farms were some of the best experiences they noted. Murphy noted that her visit to the Florida Thoroughbred Retirement farm was one of her favorite memories of the internship. She met many of the women in the pro - gram at Lowell Correctional where the farm is based and she said it was interesting to understand the program and noted that the horses were learning too. Bowden who spent a day at the farm shooting video asked to go back again so she could actually “meet” the horses and interact with the participants.
