    Padma Bhushan Pullela Gopichand Telugu Person of the Year He actually wanted to wield a cricket bat. His brother, wisely, nudged him to hold a shuttle racket, instead. His passion for his chosen sport powered him to success after success. Each time he scaled a higher peak, he brought more glory to the country. A badminton player of international eminence, Padma Bhushan Pullela Gopichand is a coach par excellence. 45 year-old Gopichand was born to Subbaravamma and Subhash Chandra on November 16, 1973 in Nagandla of Prakasham district. He completed his undergraduate education at A.V. College in Hyderabad. All along Gopichand kept honing his skills as a badminton player and at 17, was made the captain of Indian Combined Universities Badminton team. In the early phase of his career, he was coached by S.M. Arif and later, joined the Prakash Padukone Academy run by the badminton legend. His transition to the pinnacle of fame was built on his dedication and commitment to the sport. Gopichand rewrote record books in quick time and was crowned the national champion for 5 successive years from 1996. He created history in 2001 when he won the All England Open Championship, two decades after a fellow-Indian, and his perfectionist-guru Prakash Padukone, had won the championship.The ease and elan with which Gopichand became the champion made him a fitting role model for aspiring players. However, the journey did not end there for this badminton legend. He decided to shape the careers of other aspiring sportspersons by mentoring them. It was with this aim that the Gopichand Badminton Academy was established in 2008.

September 15, 2014 Summary Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to India is a new opportunity for infusing momentum in the bilateral relations. The relationship in the near term will depend heavily upon how the Chinese President and the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi accommodate each other and address key security and strategic issues. Bilateral economic dealings would be one aspect of the talks; but neither country can afford to bypass the sensitive security and strategic issues that dog their efforts to bring peace and stability. To succeed in this endeavour, the personality facets of the two leaders need to come into play and lay the ground for the next course of India-China relations. Soap for washing hands can be made from any animal fat or plant oil stirred with lye, which is soda from the ashes of burned seaweed combined with quicklime from roasted chalk or limestone. When settling down, ensure that your excrement isn’t allowed to contaminate your water source — this may sound obvious, but wasn’t understood even as late as the mid-19th century.

The China-India relationship has had elements of cooperation, competition and potentially conflict. When they met in October 2019, Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Indian prime minister Narendra Modi sought to stress the cooperative elements in the relationship, which the two countries have tried to increase over the last two decades. However, since the beginning of the year, the novel coronavirus pandemic and the boundary crisis have ensured that the competitive and conflictual elements of the Sino-Indian relationship have dominated—and are likely to persist, if not increase. Recent developments have demonstrated that despite Delhi and Beijing’s efforts to engage and to stabilize their relationship, it remains a fundamentally competitive one that can spillover into conflict. Motives, Timing & Assessments Motives: The motivations for the People’s Liberation Army’s initial moves at the China-India Line of Actual Control (LAC) in May, which Delhi saw as a unilateral attempt to change the status quo, are still a subject of debate. Analysts have put forth various possibilities: a Chinese effort to incrementally salami-slice or nibble its way to additional territory and present India with a fait accompli; a desire to put India in its place; concerns about Indian infrastructure building; Delhi changing the status of Ladakh (separating it from Jammu & Kashmir, and centrally administering it); or as a warning against India further deepening its relations with the U.S.
