E a difendere i colori italiani ci sarà Carolina Kostner, unica rappresentante italiana in terra cinese. Da venerdì 10 a domenica 12 dicembre a Pechino, infatti, si pattinerà al Capital Indoor Stadium per le Finali dell’ISU Grand Prix 2010/2011 (dal 9 per gli juniores). Carolina, classificatasi come terza nella classifica generale dell’individuale femminile, frutto di un primo ed un terzo posto rispettivamente nella tappa di Nagoya e in quella di Portland, dovrà guardarsi soprattutto dalla giapponese Miki Ando e dalla statunitense Rachael Flatt, costanti ad alto livello e che hanno dimostrato di essere in forma. Completano il quadro delle partecipanti le altre due giapponesi, Kanako Murakami e Akiko Suzuki e la seconda atleta USA Alissa Czisny. Eventuali sostitute sono la finlandese Kiira Korpi, e le statunitensi Mirai Nagasu e Ashley Wagner. Il calendario della gara femminile individuale prevede il programma corto per venerdì 10 dicembre con inizio alle 19.30, mentre per sabato 11 è naturalmente previsto il programma libero con inizio alle 18.10. Ottimi i risultati degli atleti Azzurri in gara all'Eissportzentrum Westfalenhalle, a cominciare dalla coppia Senior Stefania Berton e Ondrej Hotarek, vincitori della propria categoria con 153.91 punti frutto del 1° posto in classifica sia nel programma corto che nel libero. Dietro a loro i tedeschi Katharina Gierok e Florian Just con 132.27 punti. Sesta posizione fi nale per Alice Garlisi fra le Donne Senior con 132.69 (quinta sia nel corto che nel libero) nella gara vinta dalla giapponese Shoko Ishikawa con 146.59. Le altre Azzurre: Amelia Schwienbacher ottava (126.69), Roberta Rodeghiero sedicesima (113.44). Nell'individuale maschile Junior il nostro Filippo Ambrosini si è classificato sesto con 131.89 punti, dopo un quinto nel corto ed Il Capital Indoor Stadium è stato costruito nel un sesto posto nel libero). Gara vinta dall'atleta di casa Paul Fentz 1968. Ha ospitato le partite tra squadre nazionali con 153.78 punti. Il 13esima e 16esima nel corto e nel libero), mentre Elena Vanz ha Capital Indoor Stadium di recente ha subito una chiuso in 26esima posizione con 79.67 punti (21esima e 28esima, corto e libero). More recently, Milan has hosted the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships in 2013 and the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in 1998. 192 Skaters from 43 ISU Members have been entered for the Championships: 37 Men, 37 Ladies, 28 Pairs and 31 Ice Dance couples. Skaters and couples need to have obtained a minimum total technical score in the Short Program and Free Skating in order to compete at the World Championships. The event features 2018 Olympic Champions Alina Zagitova (RUS) and Aljona Savchenko/Bruno Massot (GER) as well as Olympic medalists Shoma Uno (JPN), Kaetlyn Osmond (CAN) and Gabriella Papadakis / Guillaume Cizeron (FRA). Overview of the top contenders Men The Men’s event promises to be very competitive with many Men having a shot at the podium. 2018 Olympic silver medalist and reigning World silver medalist Shoma Uno (JPN) comes to Italy with a seasons best of 319.84 points and hopes to take his first World title. The Four Continents Championships 2017 serve as a test event for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. Mai Mihara (JPN) strikes gold Mai Mihara of Japan came from fourth place to strike gold in what was her debut at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships. Gabrielle Daleman of Canada earned the silver medal and Mirai Nagasu (USA) pulled up from fifth to claim the bronze. Skating to “Cinderella”, Mihara reeled off a triple Lutz-triple toe combination, a double Axel-triple toe, four more triples as well as two level-four spins to score 134.34 points for the Free Skating, improving her personal best by almost ten points. The 17-year-old Japanese totaled 200.85 points to take the title in her first ISU Championship. “At first I was quite nervous, but I started with a smile and I think I was a very beautiful Cinderella by the end, so I feel glad about that. At first I thought I should do my best to finish the competition with the best I have and I felt the same during the program and at the end I was proud of myself”, the National bronze medalist said.
