Points raised by the public hearing of M/s MCL Lakhanpur Opencast Project for expansion project of coal capacity from 10 Status Mty to 15 Mty held on 27.07.2007 at 11:00 AM At: Gram Panchayat Office, Bandhabahal, Jharsuguda.

Presently no mine water is discharged into Lilari nallah. The mine water is being stored in mine sumps and used for dust suppression activities. An ETP of 50KLPD has been established in workshop with state of art technology The mine water along with oil & grease and including Oil skimmer, Aeration tanks, Multimedia filter coal dust is directly discharged to Lilari Nallah and Zero discharge circuit. Further surface water sampling without treatment which ultimately meets is being carried every six months, previous sampling was Hirakud Reservoir. The mine authority should carried out in August 2019 at Upstream and Downstream of treat this water before discharging to Lilari Pulijhore and Lilari nallah and the values were found to be Nallah. within limit as per IS 2296-1982.
