In 2016, it’s roster of artists, writers and producers had over 60 single releases of which 18 reached gold an 8 platinum certification. Elements has a strong focus in international exports with songs released in Europe, US as well as in Japan, Korea and Taiwan. She has over 17 years work experience in the music business, mainly on publishing and a&r. For the past decade, as the Head of Creative of HMC Publishing (Warner Music), she successfully signed artists, writers and producers, including the hottest female artist, Finnish superstar Sanni and top producer MGI (Justin Bieber, Akon, Pitbull) among others.     International Journal of Korean History(Vol.6, Dec.2004) 113 Women’s Life during the Chosŏn Dynasty Han Hee-sook* 1 Introduction The Chosŏn society was one in which the yangban (aristocracy) wielded tremendous power. The role of women in this society was influenced greatly by the yangban class’ attempts to establish a patriarchal family order and a Confucian-based society. For example, women were forced, in accordance with neo-Confucian ideology, to remain chaste before marriage and barred from remarrying once their husbands had passed away. As far as the marriage system was concerned, the Chosŏn era saw a move away from the old tradition of the man moving into his in-laws house following the wedding (男歸女家婚 namgwiyŏgahon), with the woman now expected to move in with her husband’s family following the marriage (親迎制度 ch΄inyŏng jedo). Moreover, wives were rigidly divided into two categories: legitimate wife (ch΄ŏ) and concubines (ch΄ŏp). This period also saw a change in the legal standing of women with regards to inheritance, as the system was altered from the practice of equal, from a gender standpoint, rights to inheritance, to one in which the eldest son became the sole inheritor. These neo-Confucianist inspired changes contributed to the strengthening of the patriarchal system during the Chosŏn era. Slager S1953346 Research Supervisor: Dr. T.J.L. van Rompay Communication Science Faculty of Behavioural, Management and Social Sciences University of Twente The Netherlands 25 June 2021 Abstract Background and purpose – As the competition in the music festival landscape increases, festival organisations need to differentiate themselves and need to obtain unique positionings in the festival market. It is of high relevance for festival organisations to better understand the factors that motivate festival visitors and gather insights in the benefits they seek. Therefore, this research explores the motivating factors of Dutch techno-house music festival visitors, using a festival-tailored framework combining the concept of the “experience economy” with social and technological factors. Furthermore, this study aims to analyse the applicability of the concept of the experience economy together with directions on how to differentiate in today’s competitive festival landscape. Methodology – Eleven semi-structured interviews were conducted to gain insights on attitudes, experiences and motivations of techno-house festival attendees. The interviews were combined with a short questionnaire in which the participants had to rate the different aspects of the framework on their importance. Results – Generally, the results of this study show that socialization is the most important motivating factor for visiting festivals. Additionally, the atmosphere of the festival is of high importance for the motivation to visit festivals. This atmosphere can be created by an overarching theme, to which the esthetics, entertainment and technological aspects need to be adapted.
