In the fi rst year of the Galen , USC honored some of its legendary players as the jersey numbers were retired for (No. 11) and (No. 25) for the men's team and (No. 31) and (No. 33) for the women's team. Sharman had his jersey retired in a halftime ceremony during the USC-UCLA game on Jan. 13, 2007 and Westphal had his retired at the half of the USC-Arizona game on Jan. 18, 2007. The women's uniform numbers were retired on Nov. 10, 2006 at halftime of the USC-Long Beach State women's basketball game. The legendary John Rudometkin had his No. 44 jersey retired at halftime of USC's win vs. Texas on Dec. 5, 2010.

JACK GARDNER (Inducted April 30, 1984)

Gardner was a three-year lettermen at USC (1930-32) and was captain his senior year, playing under legendary coach Sam Barry. TEX WINTER He learned well from Barry and became one of the most success- (Inducted Aug. 13, 2011) ful college coaches ever. Known as “The Fox”, Gardner became the only coach in history to lead two different schools to the Final USC basketball player and guru of the Fred "Tex" Four twice each. Bill Sharman, who brought a disciplined work ethic to basketball A three-year letterman at USC in 1943, 1946-47, Hannum was a with a willingness to spend countless hours in the gymnasium captain his fi nal year with the team.
