Sebastian Schwartz credits afternoons listening to Cat Stevens with ・ Tm ・ ヴ T inspiring him, at the age of 9, to nag his parents for a guitar. From the moment he strummed those first strings, he became attuned to the Ec U T T O 9 G O creative potential of a career in music. Early success with high school U U I Q 9 U cover bands and an adventurous jazz-rock fusion ensemble provided O S oU a solid foundation for studying counterpoint under Hans-Joachim- U O U TO ・ Hinrichsen at the Musicology Department of the Free University Berlin. He was subsequently accepted into the Jazz Department of ・ U X9 U one of Germany’s oldest and most prestigious conservatories, the U T University School of Music in Dresden. 9 U S T C OA o O QU Exposed to a diversity of international music genres, Sebastian developed an affinity for Eastern musical traditions from Asia and the NN U TS 9 Middle East while reinforcing his connection to the pop, rock, jazz, U TO ・ and blues he grew up with.Through excursions studying composition, oQ ・ U X arranging and orchestration under Jeffrey Kirk and William Pursell at Belmont University School of Music in Nashville, Tennessee, ・ ・ oSRU 9 Sebastian gained a deeper knowledge of, for example, American S Q O T C S roots music. He also developed a versatile world-spanning 9 U compositional style that draws on both traditional and electronic instrumentation. Um U p m o TO T 9 Q After obtaining a degree in jazz guitar, composition, and arranging, Om T U p Sebastian's career launched in a grand fashion with Kiel Week 2004, ・ EI UQ S m mQ the largest sailing event in the world. As orchestrator and arranger, he bridged the Kiel Philharmonic Orchestra with popular German I 9 pop group Die Prinzen in a lively, genre-bending concert that braved U Q OUm A T wet weather to thrill audiences. He has since built a career as a U S oS U T O composer for films and advertising, with a focus on exploring the 9 - 22 0 - 4 SRU cinematic potential of video game scores. His inquisitive, affecting, T U S and progressive compositions have motivated players on digital A CO a T adventures for game companies such as Nintendo, Grezzo, Sega, Square Enix and Capcom, and he looks forward to contributing to O U T DQ Z music's evolution in today's most rapidly growing entertainment T O 9 industry.
