1. Undergraduate : MBBS in 1995 from Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata 2. Post Graduate : MD (Radiology) in 2003 from IPGMER and SSKM Hospital, Calcutta
Details of Training and Experience 1. Undergraduate. My undergraduate education towards the M.B.B.S degree was at the Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata, India. The total period of undergraduate education was for 4 ½ years, followed by one year of rotating housemanship.
2. Post Graduate: Prior to joining a postgraduate degree program in Radiology, I completed a housejob in Department of Urosurgery from Calcutta National Medical College. I was then appointed a Clinical Fellow cum pool officer in Department of Urology C.N.M.C from August 1997 – April 1999 on ICMR project. Subsequently I trained for 1 year in the Department of Radiology, Calcutta National Medical College from May 1999 to April 2000 as a junior resident (DMRD) which I left to join the MD Radiology Program at IPGMER and SSKM Hospital. I received further training in Magnetic Resonance Imaging at Bombay Hospital following the completion of my MD course.
Clinical Appointments: Radiologist –in-charge of a diagnostic center which has a joint venture CT unit in collaboration with Government of West Bengal in SSKM Hospital - May 2003 to Mar 2005. Consultant Radiation Oncologist – AMRI Hospital, Kolkata – July 2005 to Sep 2010.
Publications: Paper on FNAC and Biopsy of Lung lesions under USG Guidance in National Conference on Radiology in Calcutta 2002 (IRIA). Poster presentation of effectiveness of USG Guided drainage of bilateral fungal adrenal abscess in IRIA 2004 in Hyderabad. Comparative study between small bowel enema and small bowel follow through in small intestinal pathology Paper presented in IRIA 2005 in Agra. Endovenous Laser Ablation in Chronic Venous Insuffiency Syndrome in CEAP Class 3 and above---paper presentation in IRIA,2010. Ahmedabad. National Faculty in PENCON 2011 Pediatric Nephrology Conference.
Research Projects Thesis on comparative study of Posterior Fossa Lesions on CT and MRI A comparative study on the efficacy of USG guided Renal Biopsy and the blind unguided procedure. Project underway in SSKM hospital in collaboration between departments of Radiology and Nephrology – under guidance of Dr U Das and Dr R Pandey Epidermiology Study to acertain the etiology of NASH in urban and rural population – ICMR project under guidance of Dr Abhijit Chowdhury being conducted in SSKM hospital and villages of district of Birbhum.
