Making Days Memorable Cadhay is a beautiful and historic Tudor manor house built from the stone of Dunkerswell Abbey after the reformation, with ties to the Paulet family, gaolers of Mary Queen of Scots. Built around a grand courtyard adorned with statues dedicated to Henry VIII and his Royal Tudor succes- sion, Edward VI, Mary and , the house is set in magnificent and well maintained gardens with a centrepiece of medieval fish ponds.

The Tudor house was heavily restored in the Georgian period creating one of the most stunning comfortable and welcoming places you could wish to experience.

Located near , an attractive parish town in the heart of rural East , ten miles east of and six miles from the sea at , Cadhay offers a blend of history and charm within the peace and tranquillity of the Devon countryside.

Celebrations of Life at Cadhay - Services in the Granary

Within the tranquility of Cadhay lies the Granary. A comfortable and airy building in which we welcome you to hold the Celebration of Life you wish to have as a dedication to your loved one. The Granary’s large glass windows frame the glorious countryside setting of Cadhay, enhancing the room with an abundance of natural colour and light. This peacefully intimate place has easy flat access from the estate carpark via the Leat Courtyard. On the far side of the Granary wide double doors open up inviting contemplation around the stunning Gardens and Medieval Ponds. The Granary is a building with a simple, classically pure interior surrounded by a feast of nature’s own splendor. With the assistance of one of our experienced and qualified Civil Celebrants, we can create a meaningful service full of warmth and love. In addition, we can enrich the Granary with your personal touches to make a Celebration of Life at Cadhay a truly unforgettable experience.

A ’Celebration of Life in the Granary’ Fees—£950 for a 2 hour service

This includes: - Use of the Granary for 2 hours for the service An experienced Independent Life Celebrant to deliver the service on the day with professionalism and flair A fully personalised celebration of life ceremony Custom-written eulogy (or assistance if the family wishes to write their own) A family interview at Cadhay to capture the deceased’s life story Guidance and support through every stage of the ceremony planning Suggestions for readings and music, if required A printed copy of the script to treasure forever Management of a visual tribute Up to 100 printed order of service booklets for guests to keep featuring details of the celebration, photos, hymns, readings and a message from the family

Refreshments in the Apple Store Fees—£500 for 3 hours

On the opposite side of the Leat Courtyard is the idyllic Apple Store café bar, perfectly placed for food and refreshments after a Celebration of Life service in the Granary. An air of relaxation hangs over the Apple Store allowing time to slow, reminisce and recount stories and memories. To the rear is a doorway, a gateway to the secrets of the walled garden, a sun terrace of tables and chairs and fitting seclusion. Here in the Apple Store, our local caterer can offer you a range of options ranging from a light buffet to a full sit down banquette. The choice is yours. Behind our licensed bar, our friendly staff are on hand to serve and keep your guests’ glasses refreshed.

Our catering options are as follows - Menu One Platters of freshly made cocktail sandwiches A variety of fillings to suit all diets garnished with rocket Cherry tomato, olive and mozzarella kebabs with pesto Mushroom and coriander roulade Charcuterie skewers Devon scones topped with strawberry jam and clotted cream £12.50 per person Menu Two Platters of freshly made sandwiches Testimonies for our caterers - A variety of fillings to suit all diets garnished with rocket Tiger prawns marinated in lime and ginger ‘The food was truly delicious and most Soft bagels topped with cream cheese and smoked salmon beautifully presented.’ Quails eggs with celery salt and cherry tomatoes

From the east: Exit the A30 at the Iron Bridge exit just after Honiton. Follow the signs for Fairmile and Cadhay.

From the west: Exit the A30 at the Pattesons Cross exit and follow the signs as above.
