The most famous of highland bachelors, police sergeant Hamish Macbeth, will be married at last. Everyone in the village of Lochdubh adores Josie McSween, Macbeth’s newest constable and blushing bride-to-be. While the locals think Josie is quite a catch, Hamish has a case of prenuptial jitters. After all, if it weren’t for the recent murder of a beautiful woman in a neighboring village, there wouldn’t be a wedding at all. For it was a mysterious Valentine’s Day package—delivered to the victim before her death—that initially drew Hamish and Josie together on the investigation. As they work side by side, Hamish and Josie soon discover that the woman’s list of admirers was endless, confirming Hamish’s suspicion that love can be blind, deaf…and deadly. In addition to the popular Hamish Macbeth series, M. C. Beaton writes the Agatha Raisin mystery series; she also writes Regency romances under her real name, Marion Chesney. She divides her time between Paris and the English Cotswolds. Graeme Malcolm has performed on Broadway as Pharaoh in Aida, and as Sir Edward Ramsay in The King and I. His television credits include Law & Order, Against the Law, Criminal Intent and The Guiding Light. He has narrated hundreds of audiobooks. Playing Time: 6 hrs Copyright P 2010 by Marion Chesney. I've read enough of these Regency romances now to realize that except for the clothing and setting things haven't really changed that much. There are still the rich and the poor, the exclusive societies, mean girls and bullies. And there are still happy endings. Ms. Beaton puts it al | About the Author | M. C. Beaton (aka Marion Chesney / aka Jennie Tremaine) has won international acclaim for her bestselling 'Hamish Macbeth' mysteries and the 'Agatha Raisin' mystery series. She is also the author of more than one hundred romance tit The Beast; that was what they called her. With her plump body and rough tomboy ways, she felt more like a clown. It was hopeless. Poor penniless Tilly could only sit among the chaperons as a paid companion to the spiteful Lady Aileen.

(15/30) The Deadly Dance 30 [15] Beaton, M. C. Minotaur Books (2010) Bossy, impulsive, and unlucky in love, the all-too-human Agatha Raisin has proved to be a surprisingly effective---and endearing---amateur sleuth. But can Agatha make it as a private investigator? After getting mugged on vacation, in what she will always think of as the Paris Incident, she decides to find out. Agatha soon learns that running her own detective agency in the Cotswolds is not quite like starring in a Raymond Chandler movie. Instead of dames in distress with big shoulder pads, her clients are ladies with missing cats and a man whose son has run off with his car. Agatha even worries that she might be outclassed by her sixty-seven-year- old secretary, Emma Comfrey. But then wealthy divorcée Catherine Laggat-Brown walks in with their first "real" case. Mrs. Laggat- Brown's daughter has received a death threat, and when Agatha thwarts an attack on the girl at a dinner dance, she recognizes an opportunity to show what Raisin Investigations can do. Even better, the case gives her a chance to reunite with her long-absent friend, Sir Charles Fraith. As they scour the Cotswolds in search of leads, Charles' insights prove invaluable and his charms irresistible, leading poor Emma to fall madly in love with him. As ever, Agatha bumbles her way through the case, trying her friends' patience and flirting shamelessly with the chief suspect. Will she put her tiny agency on the map, or has even the outrageous Agatha finally bitten off more than she can chew? GET A CLUE! Be the first to hear the latest mystery book news.… With the St.

As it comprises an immense diversity of writing done in such mainstream sub-genres as detective, police, and serial killer fiction, as well as actual noir, I will investigate both the contrasts and the crossovers between said sub-genres.

What a pity that yet another Christian Festival has been taken Beaudesert Park School over by commercialism. ‘Edible Art’. The roots of the name Easter come from the old English / pagan See page 10 Eostre for a spring festival celebrating new birth and new life after the cold and death of the past winter. It just so happened to coincide with the Passover of the Jewish faith and when Christianity hit these shores, the name stuck. At least the Anglo-Saxons wouldn’t be deprived of one of their more important festivals! Easter bunnies and chicks along with Easter eggs are all symbolic of the season of new birth - hence the time that Christians celebrate the ‘new birth’ of Jesus at the Resurrection. When one buys Easter Eggs this year, just spare a thought for what Easter really means and celebrates - it is not complicated and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg like the chocolate does! ‘Nailsworth in the Top 101... according to a recent Sunday Times article (16 March 2014). We often wonder who contributes to such polls, but Nailsworth is rated so highly because of the ‘posh grub’, William’s, £1m houses in the centre of town, no parking fees ... There is so much more to Nailsworth than just this list and how shortsighted the ST editor must be to list this nonsense, without paying a personal visit and see why we know Nailsworth should be in the TOP TEN places to live! This town is rather special for so many more (serious) reasons than posh food etc.
