The Economic Geology Research Centre (EGRU) at , in association with the Geological Survey of are hosting the second workshop on the Minerals Systems of the Mount Isa Inlier, in Cloncurry. This is the fourth in the series of workshops that aim to bring together academia and industry for a series of technical talks, from invited speakers, to showcase the diverse deposits of the region. The program includes 2 days of sessions followed by 2 x one day field trips.

Full day field trip to the Tick Hill Au deposit. The field trip starts Thursday 14 May Field Trip and ends in Cloncurry.

Full day trip to Elaine Dorothy and planned to vist Mt Colin Friday 15 May Field Trip Cu-Au deposits but yet to be confirmed. The field trip starts in Cloncurry and ends in Mount Isa.

Transport Transport to and from Mount Isa airport and Cloncurry is included in the workshop fee. Transport will be provided on the following dates only: Monday 11th May: Mount Isa to Cloncurry - Bus will depart Mount Isa Airport after the arrival of the -Mount Isa flight (approx 12.30pm). At the conclusion of the workshop sessions: Thursday 14th May (Morning only, 6am departure): Cloncurry to Mount Isa At the conclusion of the field trip: Friday 15th May: participants will arrive at Mount Isa Airport at 4.30pm to connect with the evening departing flights to and Brisbane.

Field Trips

Field trips require all participants to supply their own safety clothing – long sleeve shirt, long pants, boots/ shoes (with steel caps if visiting a mine site) and sun hat. Those without the correct safety / field gear will not be able to attend the field trips. Hard hats, safety glasses and high visibility vests, if required, will be supplied by EGRU.
