The third-seeded Horned Frogs ran into a buzzsaw in their first game on Wed., May 22 as they dropped their opening contest to the tourney’s host and eventual cham- pion, No. 6-seed East Carolina 5-1. Career Wins 482 4th This is the second-straight year Trofholz has gained all-conference recognition, as he was named to the WAC’s second-team after the 2001 campaign. Wins at Current Jerome anchored the Horned Frogs’ starting rotation all season to earn second- School 482 2nd team all-Conference USA kudos. The sophomore compiled a 9-5 record and 3.33 ERA BROWN YEAR-BY-YEAR in 16 starts this season. Additionally, the right-hander went 8-2 in league games to lead C-USA in conference victories. Year Overall Conference (Place) In his first season at TCU, Meeks’ .354 batting average ranked second on the 1987 24-35 4-17 (8th) squad. The left fielder overcame a dislocated left middle finger that caused him to miss 1988 27-32 8-13 (5th) seven games to rank second on the team with 68 hits and 15 doubles. 1989 37-22 7-14 (t-6th) TCU’s power leader, Olmstead rounded out the squad’s all-conference honorees. 1990 27-32 4-17 (8th) The switch-hitting first baseman led the team and ranked among C-USA’s top ten with 12 home runs and 54 RBI. 1991 34-25 10-11 (t-4th) The league’s top honors were also announced at the banquet, with Tulane’s James 1992 25-30 14-22 (6th) Jurries named Player of the Year, Houston’s Brad Sullivan claiming the Pitcher of the 1993 34-22 5-13 (6th) Year award, East Carolina’s Darryl Lawhorn collecting Freshman of the Year honors and 1994 38-22 14-4 (1st) Louisville’s Lelo Prado being named Coach of the Year. 1995 27-29 11-13 (5th) TCU DIAMOND SENT OUT ON WINNING NOTE 1996 34-33 11-13 (4th) An era ended at TCU on May 14 when the Horned Frogs hosted the last-ever 1997 26-27 15-15 (2nd) game at TCU Diamond. The Frogs defeated local-rival Texas-Arlington 6-3 to end the 41-year history at the ballpark on a winning note. 1998 33-23 18-11 (2nd) The victory over UTA punctuated a 7-0 run by TCU in its final homestand at the 1999 32-26 19-10 (2nd) Diamond. In all, the Horned Frogs went 16-7 at home this season to up their all-time 2000 22-34 12-18 (5th) record at TCU Diamond to 867-605-8. 2001 32-28 21-15 (3rd) The Frogs will move into their new home, state-of-the-art , for 2002 30-29 19-11 (3rd) the 2003 campaign.
